I just discovered that you can buy popping candy that is coated in cocoa butter......which stops it melting into your cake mixture! Whoop!

Stewby, I'm not stalking you, honestly, but you keep on amazing me with your new found money saving ways. If there is an award for Best New Moneysaver you are a dead cert to get it.

I am so sorry that I never saw this before. I wasn't ignoring you I promise.

You have completely made me blush, there are so many better people on here than me. I am just trying to learn all I can and people on here a lot of advice to give which I will gratefully take on board.
    :)

Erm... prior to my LBM, I decided to get a slow cooker for xmas from my brother and his family. It is this one below... so very small and not really batch-cooking friendly. Any advice on recipes and things?? Would I need to half the normal recipes so that it will fit in the bowl?? Could I freeze the ingredients raw and then just add it all to the slow cooker to cook on the day we wanted it??

oh yeah... this year for our fake xmas (happens on the 2nd January), I am planning on making a swiss roll splitting it into three (two smaller bits and a big bit) and attempting to make a cracker!!
I will post a picture if it isn't a complete disaster.
    ;)

Hope everyone had a wonderful xmas.
