Tried the cheese and marmite pasties last night, they were amazing and even better in work this morning (cold)!

Dig in! It was pretty easy and quick to make actually.

Just bake 2 x choc sponges, sandwich them and cover them with choc butter cream. then straight away cover the sides with kit Kat's (or choc fingers) then pour on sweets. I used counters, m&ms and malteasers!

    Hello Everyone!

Well I spent last night doing some Halloween baking and here is the practice batch of spooky cupcakes. I'm going to make another batch tonight to give out to any trick or treaters we get.

They are incredibly easy ladies. Literally an upside down muffin, coated in marmalade (or jam), topped with a glace cherry. Then cut out discs of white fondant icing and drape over the top. Add a couple of choc chips for eyes. Good news is my testing panel (Husband and work collegues) have all come back with positive reviews so will be doing more later today. Going to do something similar for xmas in the snowman/father christmas vein.

well i have to admit i love to cook, baking is something i dont do normally unless its (shamefully) a box mix that you add an egg and a bit of water to.......but I am now trying to be frugal so out go the box mixes and in comes "baking from scratch".

Not sure what Ive made but its in the oven and smells ok. I stole KolaKube's method of weighing eggs and mixed together:
    3 eggs
    200g s/r flour
    200g butter
    200g brown sugar
    vanilla essence

II just mixed the lot together in a bowl and poured it into a cake tin. Its now on gas 5 in the oven. Dont know whether it will turn out nice or what to serve with it! I saw all the pics on here and decided I wanted to have a go at properly making a cake!
Have I done things right or made an error somewhere??

    hey mon1o!

all sounds good to me - do post up a pic if you fancy it when it's out of the oven. Just guessing you made sure the tin was greased before pouring the batter in? And if you want to make it chocolate cake next time you can add roughly 60g cocoa powder to it!

Wel jel! Have no flour left at all as it's so long since i last did a mega-shop!!

    xx
