Gutted as I've made a few major purchases on my Egg Money in the last couple months, normally only spend around £100 a month on the card so would only get me an extra £6 or so. Do any cashback sites pay for Capital 1 (quidco don't).0

Have applied and have been advised they will be in touch within 7 days. I fulfil all the criteria but can't remember when I cancelled my last Capital One card. Plus I applied for it with H as a 2nd card holder - will the decision be affected if he has a capital one card (which I don't 'think' he does)?MFIT No. 810

If I ditch the MSP card and get the CapitalOne, I won't be able to go back to Morgan Stanley as they are not doing the Platinum cashback card any more!
But there will probably be another Best Cashback Introductory Offer Card along by then. Just apply for it, switch your expenditure onto it, keep your C1P card until the cashback is paid next January, take the money & run.
How's that for advance planning - we haven't even got the C1P card yet!The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

No, I had a look at all the cashback sites last week and none of them do business with Capital One any more (one of the websites said they used to but no longer do so).
If you are not going to make any big purchases in the next few months then you would probably make more money by applying for a different new card through quidco - £35 at the moment for Egg regular card (which I would not advise you personally to apply for as you say that you have an Egg Money card so I doubt they will accept you for an Egg regular card), £20.50 for the Post Office card, £20 for a couple of other cards (e.g. NatWest) and lots more money if you fancy an American Express card.
At least with the quidco deals you get the cash just for being accepted for a new card and get paid in cash within 2 months. With the Capital One deal you have to wait until next January for your cashback (assuming they accept you for this card and don't offer you something else instead).0 -

I've just applied for the 4% card. My wife already has a Capital 1 card for the 0% BT offer. If I get turned down, I wonder if they will give me a reason? [I don't usually get given reasons - I just assume it's because of a high existing credit level and/or debt (all at 0%).]However hard up you are, never accept loans from your friends. Just gifts0 -
My wife (who never has a credit card) got an instant approval, while I (who always got instant approval) got a "7-day decision". I wonder if that has something to do with the fact that I had a C1 card a while ago for stoozing (but cancelled after 0% finished).Mark Hughes' blue and white army0

Do you think this offer will be around for a while? I don't really want to apply until mid-July, as I have a major car service coming up in mid-October and would like it to come under the 4% cashback (greedy I know, but would be worthwhile!) If it's only a limited offer, I had better get on and apply immediately.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0

I currently have a Captial One card that I don't use (doh!). If I phone up and ask them to change it to one of these 4% cards and say if they don't then I will cancel (which I will), do I stand any chance of getting one?
I'm not very good at this kind of thing, but if I know they have done it for someone else on here then I might be brave and try
Anyone managed it?

i applied for the cc last week and fullfilled all the criteria. Been almost a week now....not heard anything back. Should they be writing to me or emailing me to take my application further?? Although i cant see why they would refuse me...i have a good credit history.0
