So today I have paid £278.92 on my HSBC loan and £200 on my CC. As I will also be getting paid a little every week I should be able to pay some extra.
So I now owe less than £6,000 :T
If I get all my deposit back soon and get paid some more it could be less than 5,000 by the end of this month!
ANd at least this is only a 4 week month. This month has gone on for ever. I hate waiting 5 weeks to get paid.Don't ever be anybody's slogan because you are poetry

Try Cat Protection. We got our gorgeous boy from there. I'll attach a pic. Around here they will try to match you with the type of cat you want, although we fell in love when we first set eyes on him. They don't actually charge you for them but you can offer a donation. The woman we saw said she had had an old lady take a senior citizen cat from her and all she could offer was some cat food and £5. Cat protection didn't have an issue with this.

Well done on two counts, getting the debt down and resisting the kitten. Sounds like you would like one.
As an incentive, how about agreeing in your head that once you are debt free, you can have a kitten? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks guys... and Lucy your cat is beautiful. My last cat looked like him. He was lovely, really miss him.
RAS: good plan. It's probably better to wait especially with vets bills and things like that, till I can properly afford one.Don't ever be anybody's slogan because you are poetry

I would wait to. Then he can be as pampered as ours is. My Mother feeds him tuna at the weekends!!!
But I was always get pet insurance. We recently had to pay £150 vet bill as he was attacked by our neighbours evil cat. with insurance we actually only paid £50, makes a big difference when money is an issue.Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0 -
Lucy, he's gorgeous!!!! And I bet he's got you wrapped round his paws. Still as they say "dogs have owners, cats have staff".Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Well done resisitng the kitten. What a great idea to use getting a kitten as an incentive for getting debt free. That might stop you spending all those small amounts of money too as you could just imagine that that little kitten.
Lucy your cat is adorable. We got ours from a charity and she's sat on my lap as i'm typing this. We got her because I didn't think anyone else would have her as she was skin and bones, had a bald spot on her head and had manky ears. However, they agreed to pay vets bills till she was better as they'd rather she got a home. She's now a pretty little thing, beats the dog up on a regular basis and knows that she runs the roost.
Good luck getting debt free and getting that kitten.
Love that comment about cats having staff.....soooooooo true!January budget

I managed a NSD yesterday and am going for another one today! I will get paid for my second job next week monday. Quite a long wait really but I want to get rid of that extra £89.81 on my CC. Well that's the aim anyway so it's a nice round £3,400.
I hope that I will only need to buy bread for the rest of this week as I have everything I need till about Sunday.
For this week I am not even sure if I will be working for my second job. They haven't let me know yet. They have a strange system where you have to tick the days you are available. The only days they have events on are Wednesday and Saturday for this week. I've ticked both so hopefully I will get to work both nights.Don't ever be anybody's slogan because you are poetry

I think I am obsessed with my finances! I have checked my bank account three times this morning  Well you never know that through some miracle I could owe less than I thought but it is always the same!
And all the excitement from last payday has gone and I have to wait another 4 weeks for the next proper pay.
Still not sure how I will manage to be debt free by Xmas. I will need to pay off another £250 this month to be on track for that. Don't know if I will manage that.
Also it is our 2 year anniversary on 14 July. I have saved up the tips from my waitress job and so far I have £10 which isn't too bad really I suppose. If I could get another £15 by then I should be able to get him something.
We have decided to buy a nice bottle Drambuie (quite pricey but we love it) and have a nice meal at home. Probably have a good chat and watch some films. And we can stay up late as it is a Friday.Don't ever be anybody's slogan because you are poetry

That sounds like a lovely idea. In fact I normally enjoy those more than nights out.
