Sorry I don't think I posted the link correctly try this

Have a look at his gallery and all the different things he does.

And there's nothing wrong in wanting them to come on your final journey with you - everyone has different opinions/feelings - like when Milo died, I couldn't bear the thought of him being put into a freezer at the vets so I took him to the crematorium myself, I want to be with him until the very end, I maybe would have done things differently knowing what I know now (and the crematorium didn't have the first clue about dignity etc) but luckily I've managed to put those thoughts/pictures to the back of my mind. And I had his ashes back with me within 24 hours and felt a little more at ease then. My fireplace has become a shrine to Milo but its still very very raw and painful and I only have to sit and look at his photos and the tears start (which they do every night anyway). I have a special photo of him in a frame beside my bed and I say goodnight and blow him a kiss every night. x

If I was going to do anything with my girls ashes I'd have a life gem made from them. I might as some point mix some of their ashes together and have one made but I do want them to be with me when I'm cremated.

I'm going to get my mutt stuffed and he can sit beside the end of the couch with me. :D

No, not really but I have to joke about these things otherwise I'd be in bits at the 'proper' thoughts.

I just can't get my head round him one day not being here. I have so very much sympathy for all of you who have lost their pal, I really do.

He's on my feet under the desk right now, a hot water bottle just wouldn't be the same. :D

  • After husband and I lost our first beloved cat to renal failure, a very few nights later I had a dream. A dream that was clear and vivid and seemed to be in 'real time'. I dreamed that I was in a room, looking out of a huge patio door/window overlooking a field. I could see a man crossing the field with a dog and also a black and white cat. As they got closer I recognised the cat as ours. I called out to husband, as I somehow knew he was in the dream, 'look, LOOK WHO IT IS!!!!!' As our adored cat ran into the room and I scooped him up into my arms, upside down like a baby. He purred loudly, I could smell his fur and feel his weight. My husband was there too and we kissed him together. It was marvellous. I gradually woke and beaming, turned to my husband to say;' I've just had a WONDERFUL dream...' as he pre-empted me, saying almost the same words...... Odd but true.
  • I believe they do :A When Fizzydobie went to sleep it was one of the worst days of my life. Since that time during the night I've tucked my feet under 'her' weight like I used to when she slept on my bed - she weighed 33kg, and it's definitely not my 12kg cocker spaniel (who moves like Usain Bolt if I do that :rotfl:). We've heard her sleep 'huffing' from the kitchen when we've been sat in the lounge.

My Mum hears her too - she always had a blanket on the sofa for Fizz, and when she was poorly she'd put some plastic under it in case Fizz wee'd in her sleep. Mum often 'hears' Fizz getting up on the sofa, even though the plastic isn't there anymore (she doesn't have mice, lol)

What a lovely thread, it is so comforting to hear everyone's experiences. I definitely want to believe that there is more to life than the eye can see, even though I have never had a personal experience as such myself (such as 'seeing' a pet that has passed over).

We used to have 3 cats, all girls who did not get on with each other. When cat 1 died after a short illness we were devastated. The following morning my OH went to feed the other two, and thought that he'd use cat 1's bowl for cat 3. He never got that far as the bowl simply split in two (it was a glazed terracotta dish). It was like cat 1 was saying - 'What???? You are going to feed HER from my bowl! Over my dead body!'

When I got back home on that evening and had fed the 2 cats, I was wondering why they were being funny around the cat flap. They seemed to want to go out but not going through the flap. So I poked the flap with my finger to say, 'look - use the catflap' only to find that it was locked. It had been fine in the morning as far as I know. I was thinking that maybe Cat 1 was playing a one more trick, as sometimes she used to sit by the side of the flap so that she could not be seen and then bang the flap onto a face of one of the others when they wanted to come in - 'take that!'.

We had to put Cat 2 to sleep at the beginning of August but have not experienced anything out of the ordinary, she has not even come to me in dream which I'm quite sad about as she was very much 'my cat'. I do send her loving thoughts and hope she's ok.

I had both cats cremated and after a year, scattered most of cat 1's ashes to the garden. I'm keeping back a table spoonful - in case we ever move house - so that she can come with me. My OH thought I was a freak and that I should let go. Having read your posts, now I know I'm not the only one! :p

I am enjoying this thread - you all are posting such lovely stories and it IS comforting to know that you are not the only one to 'see' 'hear' or 'feel' the presence of a loved pet! I always knew that animals have souls too - and its nice not to be thought of as 'freaky' or 'spooky' because I see those passed over.

edit - not anything like the 'ghost whisperer' lol - its very random whether I see anyone or anypet - usually I think they are as alive as you or me til they do something strange like walk through closed doors or someone says 'Cant be - they died years ago'! when I describe them.
  • i believe they do, my beloved cat missy was hit by a car and died, and within a few days i often felt her walking across the bed, it wasn't any of the other cats as they weren't in the room, she was v light footed and i always knew even if it was dark if it was her or one of the others. several people mocked me but i think if you believe and it helps you, then sod what anyone else thinks.

just tell us where it is and we'll find it....

I think that those that mock - are the ones who are scared of passing over. they think 'its the end of me'. they couldn't be more wrong in my belief. its just the beginning!
I am taking life as it comes - but I do look forward to passing over. I WANT to see my Nan and Granch again, I want to see my dad and my pets, and most of all - I want to meet the baby who died in the womb and never became a twin. Sorry if a bit maudlin for some of you - but to me it will be a happy event!

    Re ashes.
I certainly don't care what other people think about this, I have 2 Great Danes ashes sitting on my mantle piece at home, they are contained in cardboard tubes with an all round picture of bluebell fields on each which is what they came back from the crematorium in.
As they are Danes ashes the tubes are very large and people often ask what they are, a couple have recoiled when I tell them but most people know how much I loved the ones I have lost and don't bat an eyelid.
    2 angels in heaven :A
