So first day back half way done.. I'm working this evening so a long day for me.... Unfortunately not on overtime just necessity..!
A week till payday.. :T Seem's to have been a long month money wise, not sure why as I don't think I've had more spends than usual, other than 1 night out...! Typically it was this weekend though so I'm feeling a bit poor with 50p in my purse..!
BT keep texting me to tell me its an internal problem and do I want to cancel.. well no actually because even if it is an internal problem it still needs fixing.. reading on other forums they do this regularly .. repeat there will be a charge and its not our problem. Well until someone comes out and actually looks at there wires and stuff I don't see that they can say that.. so OH may well be £129.99 down if its really not there problem.. but we can't go on with this stoopid intermittent internet.. it drives both me and dd mad...
All meals from stores this week, i'm adapting my meal plan so I don't have to buy any extra.. last night I had the left over veg from sunday with a frozen BE pie and mash.. yum... tonight its bacon steak with fried egg and potato waffles which have been residing in the freezer for some time... Had to rejig meal plan as OH failed to tell me he's off his main work this week so will be in for dinner most nights... why he can't tell me that before I go shopping I don't know...!
Right off to hook laundry out of machine.. bye for now......Christmas 2020 £109

Your internet sounds horrendous Puzz, Can only think you bite the bullet and get them out.
I am guessing you have tried your router direct in the test socket of your master? Not sure how technical you are but I can help you with this if you want? That will at least prove the issue is not with the cabling inside your house?
We had a good Easter although with relatives over from Australia there was some expense. We went up to the Lake District for an Easter Egg Hunt. Kids liked it, but were more impressed with the Harry Potter steam train we also went on.
Lessened the expense somewhat with some clever selling on ebay, I had a few caravan items I didn't include in it sale and listed these. One was a portable BBQ that you can't get anymore, and it ended up selling for £8 more than I paid for it 6 years ago. Proper Brucie bonus. Also got an extra free month off the council tax. We've swapped to 12 monthly payments rather than 10 and while they sorted it out we didn't have to pay this month, so starts next month for 11 months so always good for the budget.
First payments from Stepchange to CCs on Friday, seems to have taken an absolute age to get to this point, but onwards and downwards (for the debt) now :-)0 -
Hi bb, thanks for popping in!! With regards to the internet I've stuck more cables in holes, disconnected, reconnected, switched phones, extranetted and had my internet provider engineer here..millions of phone calls to both bt and aol...I'm sick of speaking to India!!! I almost can't wait for tomorrow's visit!!!
Good news on the break away and eBay sales! Friday sees your first and my sixth payment, I haven't yet learnt not too wish the months away to see the debt going down, I expect you will be the same. Keep plodding on!!!

:j:j:j:j:j
It was BT's fault... the outside line was completely corroded and had to be replaced..... It did mean I was without a phone line for 24 hours but it has now been replaced and as it was external and not internal even though they kept telling me it was.. so no charge to me... :j:j
Internet has been on since 10am this morning, unfortunately I have been out and about so haven't been able to monitor it its staying on but i'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed...!!!
No money news, nearly down to my last pennies for the month, luckily payday is only 5 days away.. Have no expensive plans for the weekend, although dd may go to the cinema.. I may do a boot fair sunday, weather dependant... and have been busy doing my visits, out tues and weds evenings working... may or may not go out tonight, I will decide later...!
Tomorrow will be my creditors 6th payment from me, so hoping those that haven't defaulted yet will get on with it..!!! All quiet otherwise, they are a very well behaved bunch of creditors.. let's hope they stay that way...!!
I did get my internet free this month, due to the fact that I couldn't use it.. so that saved me a £10...
Plants all growing now, doing battle with slugs and snails and puppy dogs tails.. no I made that bit up.... Not sure what to do about the beasts chewing my bean leaves.... any tips...???????
So food shop done today, I used the last £12 off £60 spend in sainsbobs.. I now have a save £15 off £60 online sainsbobs voucher with free delivery and a £12 off £60 online from tesco to use.. so guess I will be doing a couple of online shops in the next few weeks...!
I am hosting a macmillion big night in, just for my normal girlies, informal, jacket spuds, chilli type night.. this is on the 16th may. Everyone makes a donation of the cost of a normal night out.. in my case that's £0 then as I don't go out very often...!!!! It seemed a good idea at the time, even though I only fly home the day before...
Right off to get on with some work.....Christmas 2020 £109

Internet dropped at 9.40 last night:eek: but has stayed on since so I will keep monitoring!!
Car insurance renewal came in at £237, the car is only worth £650:eek: Last year I paid £198. I was a little worried about trying to change insurance companies and continue to pay monthly but have taken the plunge and accepted the £158 quote and its all gone through, so £40 cheaper than last year and £79 cheaper than my renewal quote.:D
Still playing throw the snail in the garden, little b###ers...think I may ask for a greenhouse type thing for my birthday, will see if any of my plants survive!
And it's Friday:j but I do have a visit to do tomorrow..boo..forecast is rain all weekend so boot fair Sunday looking unlikely!
Got a neighbour round soon for a catch up, she leads a dramatic life and the police are regular visitors to her house, last night being the last time. I live a very quiet life in comparison and wouldn't swap with her for all the tea in China!
Anyway back tomorrow, unless I win the lottery of course....Christmas 2020 £109

Well I never made it back tomorrow as promised and also didn't win the lottery.. boo...
Weekend flew past as usual and its now tuesday.. managed to lose monday quite quickly this week and don't have another one for awhile as bank hols next week and off to venice the week after..:T
Pay day has also arrived.. :T I managed £60 in overtime so that's gone into my venice pot which stands at a healthy £290 and I already have 58 euros left over from previous holiday so should be plenty and hopefully will bring some back..
I did have a spendy weekend.... but all paid for in cash but has left me poor this week as I work with cash during the week... £44 on a pair of decent trainer shoes.. My last pair died after 6 years and I hadn't replaced them so needed something for my feet on the cobbly streets of venice.. also a pair of jeans for £14... dd says they are too big for me, she is right.. but they are comfy and at my grand old age that is more important...!!!
Rushing off. back in a while...Christmas 2020 £109

Other money news....
Debt now nearly touching the end of the 57's, should drop into the 56's next month..:T
Ended the month in credit and have a little extra this month thank you tax man for the new tax code, ok it's only about £12, but better in my pocket than their's!!!
Saving pots all looking healthy, not looking forwards to my mot in June but will deal with that at the time...
Dmp now heading into month 7, just another 103 to go!!! That is based on not changing the current payment amount. I am trying to absorb the little increase I've had in mobile, utilities, water and landline and will hopefully be able to up my payments a little come review time. Never know I might get a big pay rise...:rotfl:Christmas 2020 £109

:T Bit of a positive... due to creation paying back the interest my df date has moved forwards.. so only another 101 months to go.. soon be into double figures..... that is 3075 days away.. or 439 weeks.. think i'll stick to months for now...!!!
Had a minor battle to fight at work today as i'd been asked to do a job I really and I mean really wasn't happy to do, so I met with my boss and said NO.... feel a bit better now, I hate feeling stressed with work... life's too short...
Online food shop ordered for tomorrow as the lovely Mr T's offered me £12 off a £60 spend online.. so currently sitting at £63....
House hoovered and second lot of washing drying on the line.. All target visits done for the month..:T and I think I will fiddle 2 evening one's in to next month as I only did 2 this month that I have been paid for and I was allowed 4...
Must check the weather forecast for the weekend as there is a boot fair on sunday that I could do...a lovely 6am start.. at least being a BH weekend I get a lay in on the monday... although also being a BH weekend its bound to rain...

Hi Puzz cat,
I just wanted to say a massive Thank you! You quite literally saved me. A long night realising what a mess I had got myself into and seeing no light, then reading your diary helped so much. I finally felt like I could sort it, and there might be a little light at the end of the very long tunnel.
Contact with Stepchange and they have been brilliant. I finally feel like I can get ahold of my life and finances and be in charge of them and take responsibilty for the mess I've made.
Thank you for being so honest and open. You really have made the world of difference!
