Well done on getting on the treadmill. I have one, with the intention of using it more in the winter....not touched it since before Christmas, due to this horrid chest infection. But hoping I will be able to start again soon. Mine is more for getting in lots of steps due to having Osteoporosis, rather than needing to lose any weight. I just need to tone myself up a bit, I am losing muscle tone fast I think. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Happy Hump Day....
So dd flew back yesterday.. bit of an early start for us all, I don't think she'd seen before 10am since arriving here back in December....:rotfl: So after a 4.30 start I was exhausted so no treadmill yesterday and tucked into bed by 10pm... She arrived safely and seemed very happy to be back in the USA..
Ebay items up to 60 pounds now. .don't think they will go any higher as they are an item that sells for a set price and 1 has reached it... should clear 50 quid that can go towards that naughty holiday I booked...:D
Quiet rest of the month for me.. going to try and shift a pound or two... weight not cash..... treadmill and wii for me later...
Hopefully the pennies will stop flying out of my account now that dd is back to school....although I do have a haircut booked for next week and chips with LF and his fiancee......
Right best get on as off out in a wee while...

Have a good day. I was thinking of maybe getting my Wii out later and doing some yoga. Thought it would be slow and easy and maybe help me feel a bit better before I try and get back on the treadmill. Not sure how much I can do on that yet, without coughing loads.
Hair cuts seem to cost and arm and a leg these days, don't they? With I had got more cut off mine when I last had my colour done, as it looks and feels a mess now. Need it thinned I think. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Sorry DD has gone as I know how close you are to one another but at least you know she's arrived back safely and is happy. Your finances might improve a bit too:j0

I gave up colouring mine 5 years ago and decided to go grey. Who was I trying to kid that I still had mid-brown hair without a single grey at my age?. I never had colour applied in a salon though, even when I had money. I was always happy doing it myself and it always looked OK. I must admit that I like it grey now I'm used to it, it's a nice shade, and not having to use chemicals pleases me:j. I used to worry about their continued use over so many years:eek:. Growing out the grey was a nightmare though as it was permanent colour and not one that just washes out. The tidemark effect wasn't a good look but I did it over a winter when I could wear a woolly hat whenever I went out:rotfl:.
I used to wear my hair long, often 'up', but when the 2-tone look got too much and the weather turned too warm for a hat I bit the bullet and had it cut really short to get rid of the last vestiges of colour. It was shorter than I'd ever had it in my life, very Judi Dench:eek:. My hair grows so fast that I didn't think the cropped look would be a permanent fixture but surprisingly people said they liked it and that it made me look years younger:rotfl:. Even OH noticed and said how much he liked it:eek:. I've kept it short ever since except last time I asked her to keep it a bit longer for a change and I've regretted it ever since because the shape grew out in no time and it looks a real mess now:mad:. As you say, cuts cost an arm and a leg:eek: but I'm going to have to do something soon. Fortunately I can resort to the trusty woolly hat again when I go out in the meantime:j.0 -

I do also worry about the chemicals but really don't want to go back to my natural colour. I am quite dark but suspect I have a lot of grey now...I know I can see quite a bit in my roots. But I have been having it really light blonde for more years than I care to remember. Every now and then I get worried what I am doing to myself with the chemicals, and think about stopping, but then get worried that I will look older. Its a hard one. I'm sure it will have to go naturally grey eventually though. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It is a hard one, I totally agree:T
The cost played a big part in my decision, apart from the chemical issue. My hair grows so quickly and I was having to retouch the roots every 3 weeks or so. Even doing it myself at home still cost more than I wanted to spend:(. The new growth was already pretty grey by then and was very noticeable. Also, I'm only five foot one and practically everyone is taller than me and could look down on the top of my head and see the roots:eek:0 -

morning...
Well I had my hair cut yesterday, I keep it to its natural colour of brown with a hint of glitter sparkles... (aka grey..).. young lady comes to my house and its all done and dusted in half an hour.. perfect as I don't like having my hair cut... 30 quid job's a goodun....
Bit of a result with another complaint I made back in December.. the bank paid my money into someone else's account.. and I had to phone them to get it sorted.. all done within 15 minutes.. but when I got my phone bill I had been charged 10.19 for the privilege.. so I wrote asking them to pay it .... they agreed and also sending 25 pounds compensation for their error in the branch...:T:T:T
Not a lot happening otherwise, I have been on the treadmill 8 times since the New Year.. need to up this... watch this space...
Received a you need to pay us letter from a DCA who hold one of my UE debts.. they no its UE but obviously can still chase it.. they are now threatening me with external debt collectors.... okay.. I have filed it for now and will keep my eyes open for any big burly men trying to take all my valuables... :rotfl:
Must dash, got work to do...

Great result from the bank:j. Always good when they pay us rather than the other way round. Here's to free money:beer:
I had 2 identical letters on Saturday from L**k, one for each of my old MBNA debts that they bought. One is UE (which they wrote to tell me was when they couldn't send any CCA paperwork last year) and the other is one that is enforceable but they refused my F&F on in December. They say they've been trying to contact me (?????) as I haven't responded to their requests to set up a payment plan. I'm paying them on one of them at a rate agreed with them in December and as for the lack of contact I wrote to them 3 times in December, plus emailed them and even spoke to them on the phone. I know I could just ignore the UE one but I've still been paying them £1 a month. They haven't threatened me with the bailiffs yet but knowing what a shower they are it's probably only a matter of time:rotfl: especially as I don't plan to respond to these letters.
Do you have anywhere nice to go to show off your new hair cut? Maybe your DH will take you out:j. If he's anything like mine though he won't even notice you look any different:(0
