Sounds like you had a lovely time. I cooked off all my excess potatoes as well and made slimming world chips and wedges for freezer. Never tried this before so hopefully they'll be successful as it'll save me some time when I'm cooking.
Hope you are well x

I've bitten the bullet and started my own diary at long last after years of cluttering up other people's with my ramblings:o. Please drop in and see me as I'd hate to be all alone there talking to myself:eek:.
It's called: 'Sort of debt-free but hope to be a super-scrimper in 2019'. Catchy title, not! Couldn't think of anything else though that wasn't several lines long.

hAPPY nEW yEAR....:grouphug:
So nice quiet NYE for Puzz, bar the noisy neighbours/fireworks etc..... ho hum... and then straight back to work.. don't really feel like I've had a break at all......
Last day working today, and then off until Tuesday when dd flies back to the USA..:( Have got used to her being back so I expect I will be sad for awhile.. although will I miss the extra cooking/cleaning/shopping/washing.. umm......
Money running away.. got a £5600 bill to pay for trump towers..:rotfl: Luckily got it all in savings... Just need to get dd to pay it...!!! Bank account looking pitiful as well.. will need to top it up.. wish OH would get back to work, he's always off this time of year and I miss having an emptyish house.. there's always someone sitting on the sofa watching the tv... sometimes its me......:D They are both still snoozing now.. as are the cats...
Luckily I have to go out this afternoon so they can fight over the tv controls..
Have managed 3 walks so far this year.. admittedly 2 were only round the corner to the local shops, but I did manage a 20 minutes on the treadmill yesterday and will aim for at least 4 times a week.. My neighbour wants to go out walking but my exercise trousers are shocking.... holes and all sorts so until I buy a new pair I won't be doing that..will try and find a pair in the next few weeks...
Have also listed a couple of things on Ebay... go me...! Got to get the pennies rolling in ....
Right best get on and do what they pay me to do...
Much love and let's hope 2019 is a good one for all...

Happy 2019 to you as well Puzz.
I have a treadmill as well and thought it would be great to use in the winter when I can't get out as much....now we have the coldest weather of the winter so far and I am suffering so much with my chest and breathing at the moment that I cant' use it...lol.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi CBC,
Happy New Year to you, I have subscribed and will be cheering you on to the finish line.
xx
Thank you, it will always be lovely to see you there:j. I'll still be posting on your diary too though as I've followed your 'journey' from the start (how I hate that overused 'journey' word:rotfl:) and have taken such a lot of inspiration from your progress and the way you meet every challenge with such good humour:A
My plan this year is to carry on scrimping, maybe even more so if that's possible:eek: as the money I save now will be all mine and not my creditors':j. Adds a bit of extra incentive to the daily grind. I've vowed to have a no-spend January and try to survive on using up just the food in the fridge, freezer and cupboard. OH and I could both eat for England so I hope there's enough there to see us through. We'll be down to some weird and not so wonderful concoctions by the end of the month though if the list of what I have in is anything to go by:rotfl:. The downside of this is that although I'll save plenty in January I'll need to replenish from scratch come February 1st:eek:. With the possibility of another Beast from the East and living in the middle of nowhere I can't risk being without a stockpile of food in winter. My plan to spend nothing in January will hit the buffers pretty soon though because I'll have to buy milk and bread at least twice during the month but I have 7 x £5 Morrisons More vouchers so I shouldn't have to actually spend any 'real' money. I'm going to accept that slight cheat and not let it nullify my challenge. 'Free' purchases are OK;)
I'll be posting something very similar on my shiny new diary and may even copy and paste it from here:o so I wouldn't waste my time dropping in there for the next couple of days if I were you.
Have fun with your daughter in the last few days of her stay:beer:. It seems to have whizzed by. By the way, I know exactly what you mean about husbands/partners cluttering up the place:(.. Commiserations.0 -

Morning..
Well it is for me as I didn't wake up properly until 9.45... 2 cups of tea and out of bed for 10.30... Lazy Puzz..
In my defense I had BFF over last night for a bubbles evening.. very :money: as I already had the bubbles from what I was given at Christmas...
Slightly less :money: We've booked another holiday..:rotfl:
Unfortunately our savings pot obviously didn't have nearly enough in it.. but.. I have paid for the flights on my cc and will pay our savings off it monthly.. knowing me I will find this a challenge and attempt to pay it much quicker..!! The accommodation I have paid in full from saving pots and will replace when BFF coughs up her share.. well in her defense she gave me 200 pounds last night so only owes 250ish.. I had my share already saved in Puzz's holiday pot so all good really.....
I have also been on the treadmill 3 times in 6 days and hope to go again today.. maybe I won't take this pesky extra stone with me this year..!!!!!
My Ebay items are up to 47 pounds.. :T:T
Today and tomorrow are about getting dd sorted ready for her flight back to USA on Tuesday.. if she ever gets out of bed..:rotfl:
Everything else just ticking along.. let's hope it stays that way...
