Shame:(. Was it a very recent debt? A lot of my really old ones from about 2001 came back as enforceable:mad:. A big disappointment to say the least. Trust me to have creditors who kept excellent records:mad:

    Hi cbc,

It was a 2007 one, so I have written to them with my offer of payment. In the interim they have written again asking me to contact them, assume our mail crossed in the post..!

    Monday.. again..

But house guest gone home and dd heading back to uni tomorrow so a fortnight of just OH and me bobbing around coming up...! and he is out more than in so a little bit of peace and quiet for puzz ...

    Money news..

Waiting to hear back from cabot to see if they accept my £5 a month proposal...

Surprisingly I still have some pennies in the bank despite house guest and feeding between 3-5 people most nights...

No more socials planned for ages actually.. just the way I like it.. although I may try and organise one for June we shall see..

Need to get out and do some running around over the next few weeks for work.. have dropped the overtime all bar 2 visits, as they are just so not worth my time at the rate they are paying...

Lots of expenses coming up with dd's third year abroad looming large now... flights/hotel/hairdressers/opticians/clothes/visa/health insurance etc etc.. my poor savings accounts will be depleted...

LM and LF have both successfully managed to disgrace themselves due to over indulgence of alcohol, LM even managed to end up in A & E..... parents what can you do.....:(

Right best get on and sort the day out before it runs away from me again...

Love the idea of having disgraceful parents:j:rotfl:. I wish my Mum had been a bit more that way, she was so straight-laced. No fun at all:(. No wonder I left home at 18 and never went back;)

Hi Puzz, just catching up with some of my subs and catching up with your diary. All sounds good and going in the right direction.

Personally I have totally played the game, pay all mine £400 a month between them and just don't even think about it. I've had request after request for new statements and checks but they can all do one. Get the occasional F&F offer but they are still in the 70% range. I think I'm down to almost 60% paid and at current levels they will all be done in 4 years, just at the time I plan to take early retirement.

Life is good outside of that, we live a pretty normal existence, just without credit cards. Can pretty much do as we please.

I have thought about CCA but as the majority of my accounts where opened online there seems little point. I think I only have one pre 2007 account anyway.

    Anyway enjoy the sunshine :D

Looks like things are going well for you, blisteringblue:T. You're paying off the debt and still having a life:j:beer:

I've been on a DMP since early 2013. I was with SC for about 4 and a half years and then self-managing. I've only had one offer to make a F&F in all that time, I was hoping by now they'd be coming in thick and fast:(. The one I had was just a solitary letter suggesting they might be amenable to an offer and for me to contact them with my proposed amount. I haven't done that yet as I'm still awaiting confirmation that this debt (my biggest) is actually enforceable. Sounds like your creditors have been more forthcoming with you.

To be honest it's only the debts that have full on been bought by a 3rd party that offer the F&Fs we have 2 of these and they send them every few months. They drop slightly each time so will eventually play ball. Those just managed on behalf of the original do nothing. Although got notification recently that PRAt Group have full on bought my Barclaycard debt (one of the bigger ones) so hopefull they will deal eventually too. But PRA at not known for good offers.

It's all a game remember ;) DCA Bluff

It's a game I don't fully understand the rules of:rotfl:. Your experience is the total opposite to mine.

All but one of my debts have been sold, mainly since 2014, and it's those that never contact me with offers:eek:

The one that did suggest they might be amenable to an offer is still the original creditor, being managed by a third party but definitely not sold on as yet. I checked to make sure;)
