Sorry to have missed your big day, Puzz:o. Not been on MSE or any online places at all recently. RL has been throwing some time-consuming and stressful stuff my way:eek:. The hot weather didn't help as even though I was knackered I couldn't sleep at night. People were asking me if I'd been ill (I haven't) as they say I seem to have lost a lot of weight recently. I know I could maybe have done with losing about 7 pounds maximum but more than that and my face gets really haggard-looking:eek:. I don't possess any scales, I just go on if my clothes feel looser. Just looked in the mirror (a rare event) and I do look a bit worn out though. Might see my GP but I feel otherwise very well so might not bother. Now the weather is back to it's normal Britishness:j I'm starting to sleep and eat better.
I hope you had a lovely day and that you were treated royally by everyone and pampered to within an inch of your life. I'm sending belated good wishes and positive vibes for the exciting year that lies ahead for you:beer:. The cake looks wonderful but I'll pass on the offered slice if it's OK with you as I don't like the taste of sweet things. Now, on the other hand, if you have a family sized bag of salt and vinegar crisps lying around anywhere.....:rotfl:0 -
Thank you INOD and CBC for your birthday wishes...
I had a lovely day out with my girls on the Saturday.. my only spend was on a taxi from the station as a train had broken down so ours wasn't going anywhere...! Sunday bit of family..... Lots of presents and money...:T:T:T I was truly spoilt..
Still marching on with getting everything sorted for dd's trip... I have this afternoon off and we are off to the opticians to collect, GP to collect a form, bank to pay in all our b.day cash.. and pc world as her laptop is playing up..
Also been having a battle with BT, broadband really slowed down and despite them mending it, it is still too slow so have gone for an upgrade to FO... and it costs less a month for now than I am paying.. result...
Work phone also broken so hoping to get that replaced asap....
Cat back to the vet again as still sneezing... so that's £110 in vet bills for July... Luckily OH paid...
Not around much as seem to have list upon list to work on... £££ still flying out.....
Excitement and nerves kicking in for dd... she has had emails from her room mate so I think that calmed her down a bit.. also booked her a ticket for the American football game near her uni as she's worried everyone will go and she will miss out.... It's going to be hard on both of us as she is such a home body.. but I'm sure we will manage and I just want her to enjoy it.. And of course I can pop out and visit courtesy of my lovely brother working for the airline..
Clearing out the rented house next week.. where its all going to go I have no idea...!
Loving the cooler weather, shame its not meant to last...
That's about it, best do some work for the rest of the morning..

Such exciting times for you and DD at the moment although sounds like every waking minute of your days is crammed with things to do. Better than being like mine recently, permanently busy trying to get things done that it's my own fault for letting slide in the first place. For instance I tried to rave out all the kitchen cupboards and give then a good clean. Shows what a !!!!!! I am:o, the piles of stuff that were only fit for the bin were huge, plus the energy needed to get the insides of the cupboards back to even halfway hygienic really sapped my strength. That'll teach me not to leave things so long:eek:
Have been feeling really under par for a few weeks now. In typical ostrich manner I kept ignoring it or finding excuses like the baking hot weather which never agrees with me anyway. People had been asking if I'd been ill as I'd lost quite a lot of weight (without even trying ) and my face was looking really haggard. I eventually saw my GP and the practice nurse took bloods for the full range of tests. I had a call from the surgery yesterday saying the GP would like to see me again. Knowing me (who has been blessed with lifelong good health:j) I went into panic mode:o. I told the receptionist that I couldn't go in before Thursday (still at it, putting off the inevitable aren't I?) but they have 2 surgery sites which the Docs alternate between and even the nearest is several miles away. I couldn't face driving to the further one, hence my insistence on Thursday at the 'near' one. Appointment duly made:T. I mentioned, jokingly, to the receptionist, that if it was urgent I'd try to get to the other place on an earlier date but she said if it had been really urgent the GP would have made it clear that she needed to see me asap. Panic abated slightly, it's probably something that can be easily sorted. I still feel like 'death warmed up' though. Is that a phrase you know, maybe it's just a localism?
Anyway., just having my umpteenth sit down of the day and had a quick catch up of my favourite diaries. I haven't been online much at all, haven't done much of anything really:o. Feel guilty whenever OH comes blustering in from the garden scowling at me as if I'm incredibly lazy. I didn't mention my health issues to him and he was about the only one who never seemed to notice I'd been looking thin and ill. Unless it centres on him, nothing else in the world exists:(. He still got his meals on time and his washing done so what else did he need to bother about? I've got through my money problems completely on my own thus far and will cope with anything else that life chucks at me without his input for as long as I can.
Sorry, this sounds a bit moany:o.. The last thing I wanted to do was rain on you and DD's parade. Have a safe and enjoyable trip when you go to the States, although we may hear from you again before DD's big adventure starts. My debt slaying finale has hit the buffers:eek:, I haven't had the energy to organise my paperwork enough to send my first F&F offer letters. Maybe next week if my GP can give me some magic potion to kick my energy into overdrive, eh?
Take care xxx0 -
Hi CBC, we also have death warmed up and it's not a compliment if you're told that's how you look. Hopefully you'll give have some minor deficiency that's easily sorted. CBC after reading how you are feeling etc I thought  that was me. Death warmed up, dragging myself around and generally feeling like pants. Blood tests etc then a call saying the GP needed to see me, I too panicked
. It turns out it was my thyroid. Mine is under active but as you say you've lost weight and feel like death warmed up maybe you have an overactive thyroid.
Prescribed Throxine a few years back and now I'm :j
Just a thought
Good luck

Thanks so much for that, motivated:A. Really glad to hear you are fighting fit again now:T:j
I know quite a lot about thyroid conditions as OH has one. Many years ago he suddenly lost an alarming amount of weight (which coincided with the removal of subsidised staff meals at his place of work and he started taking sandwiches from home). Not enough in itself to cause such rapid weight loss but I know the staff meals were superb and I expect he used to 'fill his boots' so to speak:eek:. He also was ehausted but hyper at the same time. He just kept brushing it aside thinking whatever it was would pass. The last straw was when we went for a country walk and he literally keeled over so I made him an urgent GP appointment. Apparently his heart was racing so much the GP said he was lucky to still be alive:eek:. The GP recognised the symptoms for what they were straight away:j
Cue a series of consultant appointments etc and the treatment which in those far off days for men was drinking some sort of radioactive substance:eek: which burns off some of the thyroid. Seems so primitive somehow. They didn't operate on men, probably still don't as far as I know, the thyroid is too near something else in the throat area. They do it for women though. After that he has had to take thyroxine ever since to even out the levels in his body. He has blood tests every 6 months and the dosage has increased slightly over the years. To be honest, I don't think my symptoms mirror his initial ones but it's an interesting idea of yours and it may be I have it less severely.
Strange how we panick isn't it? I suppose because I've been so blessed in never being ill:j (and I'm a pensioner now) it's hard to accept that it won't carry on that way forever;)
Thanks again for your concern, I really appreciate it:kisses3:0
