    Hello, Puzz :)
Been offline for a while, Just had a quick catch of of last couple of weeks, hope I haven't missed anything from before ....
Sounds like all ticking along on the money front. The bit about your parents disgracing themselves made me laugh! Fingers crossed for LF results , always a worrying time.

    Naughty Puzz.. AWOL again...

So its Friday..:j Unfortunately I am working but hey ho.. weekend nearly here.. and not a lot planned, just how I like it..

LM's 75th Birthday tomorrow so will go and visit... I am taking her out to lunch up in Town mid week next week... many £££ but unavoidable really..!!!

    Money Matters..

Am poor..... seems to be going out faster than its coming in at the minute....! Hate dipping into my saving pots even though that's what they are for...! Going to be a spendy few weeks with starting to pay for things for dd's year aboard....

Have also booked to get my hair cut.. have no idea when I last had it done.. possibly March last year...! Its awfully shabby and I have a new lady coming to my house on Monday evening to cut it....hope she's okay...

Still no news on LF's results.. LM's were clear so that's good, although she does seem to be more mad than ever..!!!!

No socials planned.. no pennies to pay for them.....

DD still home, then goes back next week for final exam then home until she goes away end of August.... will have to arrange to clear out her other home in July....

Still not been on the treadmill.... Let's try for next week....:rotfl:

    That's about it ....

    first f & f offer has arrived...

Unfortunately the timing is rubbish as all my pennies are needed for dd's year abroad...

    PRA debt offering 45% off....

Never mind, hopefully they will ask again when I'm not buying universities/paying rental properties and investing in a foreign country.....

    Enjoy the sunshine...

Good to hear about the F&F offer even though it came at a bad time. I'm sure they'll be back a few months down the line with an improved offer:j

I had a letter from Cabot, well Wescot really who are still managing the debt even after Cabot bought it from RBS last Autumn. They say Cabot have allowed them to discuss a settlement offer with me but they don't give a clue as to what they are prepared to accept:(. Looks like the ball is in my court now and I'm wondering whether to make a really low offer to see what they counter with. I 'only' owe them about £2500 now so could probably afford something like the 45% discount that PRA offered you but I don't want to pay that much as I have 4 other creditors I want to pay off this year too;). Still thinking about this one in typical procrastination mode:o

Lloyds (who I moan about constantly on MSE:o) sent me a cheque completely out of the blue a couple of weeks ago as a refund for their not handling my financial difficulties as well as they could have done! I wonder if they have spies or moles reading our comments on the forums:eek:. I didn't instigate this, they said that they are reviewing their procedures and treatment of customers in general. They also paid just under £200, the bigger part of the refund, off my debt balance. Would have preferred all the money in my bank account but anything that helps to hastens the day when I'm out of their clutches forever is fine by me:j

Otherwise, nothing much to report on the financial front. That's how I like it though, nice and steady with no waves in sight:j

I hope all is well with you and yours, Puzz. Seems ages since you last gave us an update:(

Nothing to report here on the debt front. Still plodding on towards making my first F&F. Continuing paying a token £1 per month to each creditor while I squirrel away every available penny into my F&F pot:j. None of them seem to be protesting:j although I expected they'd have asked for an update of my financial situation by now. Keeping my head down and hoping they've forgotten about me:rotfl:

My car MOT is due next month and I suspect I may need new brake pads and at least one new tyre before I take it in to be tested. It's booked in for a service next week so I expect I'm going to have to spend a chunk of my savings:eek:. It really goes against the grain to spend money nowadays even when it's for necessities. So unlike in the bad old pre-DMP free spending days. Being on a DMP has turned me into a totally different person:j.

Just caught up after being off for ages. Glad to see things are ticking along ok. Nice to know PRA etc are sending our F&F's occasionally. We have 3 with them and although only low amounts, so far they refuse to negotiate a settlement, even though they have said they are all UE. So aw are not paying anything at the moment to them

    :hello:

Well I have been a very busy puzz of late... we are ramped up now on getting everything sorted for dd's year abroad and I keep having to spend my savings... :(... but that is what they were for....:D

We are flying over together and having 3 nights in NY so we can spend a bit of time together and don't have to worry about connecting flights as soon as we land.... then off to her temporary home state for another 4 nights (3 together) and then she will be off to play uni and I will be making the big trip home alone...:(

But I am sure she will have a fantastic time (she better at the cost of it...!!) and the time will fly by......

So £££££ have been leaking out of my saving pots.... but hopefully all will go to plan.. we have lots of lists....!!!

    Other news..

None really.. LM is going away on a city break by herself next week... good luck Ireland....!! LF has been very quiet so will chase him up for a meet up next week...

    Work super busy..

The weather is lovely if you don't have to do anything....

    DMP just ticking along....

I applied and got accepted for another 'poor people' credit card, bit nervous about being in the US without any... but my savings will cover any purchases we do... waiting on the paperwork so I can admire my huge... credit limit... will it be £250 I wonder.. :rotfl:

Have booked and already paid for the hotels in both states, paid for connecting flights, and various demands from the US for visa's etc.... The main flights will only cost £270 as relative works in the airline..... so that's very useful....

Just ticking along otherwise.. seem to have just spent a fortune.. £75 on 2 haircuts, £40 on a night out with my girls, £70 taking LM out for her birthday... and next month its dd and my birthday...

Right best get on with some work, and prod dd....

Great to see you again, Puzz:j. I was getting a bit anxious that all wasn't well with you or one of your family members.

Exciting times for you and DD. How lovely that you can go over to USA with her and spend a few days together:T. I envy you having a relative in the airline industry especially for such long-haul journeys.

Don't worry about depleting your savings pots for something so worthwhile. As you rightly said, that's what your savings are there for. You've made sacrifices in other areas so there's absolutely no need to feel bad about spending money now.

Good luck with the new CC credit limit:beer:. I doubt it will be as low as £250 though. Didn't we both get £500 when we applied for our very first ones a couple of years ago? I use mine a lot and repay the balance in full each month (no more falling into the trap of exorbitant fees for me nowadays:j). I only use it for essentials that I would usually use cash or debit card for so I'm not really using anyone else's money IYKWIM. They upped my credit limit to £1000 after less than a year of being a good, responsible girl:rotfl:. I don't think I need to apply for another one at the moment even though I keep getting offers from Clearscore and Noddle:eek:

I agree about the weather being lovely for people who don't have to do anything:rotfl:. It takes me all my timejust to walk down the garden to feed the birds each day:o. I've always preferred the cooler months. The sun just doesn't agree with me:(

    Hello Puzz :)
Sorry have also been awol :o
But it all sounds very exciting in Puzzland - the US trip with your DD and her year out. No need to worry about your savings pots as cbc says - they'll take care of themselves in the end :)

Quick update on happy hump day..

Even happier for puzz as I have the afternoon off and am taking dd to the cinema.. not so good was meeting LF for lunch and he didn't turn up...he forgot about me...:( But on the upside it did mean I could get a few jobs done whilst in town...

So I received my new cc.. credit limit of £1200....:T

Perfect..will only be using it like the other one and paying it off every month, but nice credit limit for our US trip and already have the cash to pay it all off when I get home....

Have spent £160  on clothes for me... I was so sick of looking in my wardrobe and having nothing to wear I had a splurge.... will be picking it up this afternoon.. of course it might all be horrible and going back..!!!

Really sick of the hot weather now, I did purchase.. more purchases.. an arctic air... its is wonderful to sit in front of in the evening... even the cat loves it...

Right best get ready to go out...!
