Human error.
Tesco's shelf stacker put them on the wrong shelf and your other half didn't double check before buying.0 -
but im wanting to know what outcome and actions would you expect from Tesco regarding this error as it could have had serious implications on my health and anyone elses health who could have bought them.
I'd expect Tesco to move them somewhere more appropriate and you to check the packaging.0 -

I don't think macdonalds can ever be mistaken for actual food lol !Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...
Pet Peeves.... queues, vain people and hypocrites ..not necessarily in that order.0 -
May not have been the fault of shelf stacker as these days with 24 hr shopping a team member ( as they call them now) will scan the barcode on the shelves and this is feed to the storeroom team who will load up stock trollies, then a shelf stacker will take the trolly to the appropriate aisle and then just place whats in the trolly on the shelf0

I bought jam donuts from Tesco and happily let my egg allergic 6 year old tuck in only for him to tell me they were full of custard..... the whole pack had been mislabelled. Store wasn't really interested when I phoned to tell them (so they could check and relabel) but I was given a £5 voucher as I goodwill gesture when I returned the packaging.0

Agreed
Sorry this happened to you, I'm a coeliac and I'm always finding stray items in the free from sections :mad:0 -
Yes customers are always just placing things where they want and never in the correct place.
As a retailer i have actually mentioned to some customers when they pick something up and after looking at it they just throw it down anywhere to please place it back where they got it from and they just look at you as if its your fault.0 -

I would say this is by far the most likely thing that happened. Some people when they pick up something then change their mind don't put it back where it came from but just on the shelf where they've taken the new product they'd prefer, they just think it's someone else's problem to sort.
Numee28, if it's a product just dumped by a customer who's suddenly found another similar product they'd prefer and puts the original back in the gap where they've picked up the new product (most likely thing to have happened) seriously how is this Tescos fault?0 -

The OP said there was a number of the item there, not just one or two, and this was the following day so it is unlikely to have been a customer putting it there.
Things being filled into the free from section by accident happens all the time. The biscuits come on the same delivery cage as the normal biscuits and the cases look similar so easy mistake to make when rushing. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
