  • very true Prowla had forgotten about that one. I do think this is a allergy relative issue rather a misrepresented ingredient such as horse meat someone who is allergic to an ingredient should be vigilent which i normally am but free from should be free from. It was what could have happened that bothered me. A friend of mine had she been given them would have needed an epi pen for her allergic reaction, its a serious error by someone at Tesco.
  • as far as i know subway do not do GF and like ive said i dont normally eat anything processed which i would class Subway to be, it was a situation which i found myself in, next time i will stick to nuts and fruit
  • Free from does not mean wheat or gluten free. It can be dairy free, egg free or soya free etc.

Slap your partner for being so irresponsible!

Then yourself for not Double checking

. My son knows to Double check what he is given.

i was just wondering what people thought as im a little all over the place this is the first time this sort of thing has happened to me where i have felt vulnerable due to this weeks illness and it just shook me a little thinking that i could have so easily been ill again due to a cookie and blamed it on my infection or meds by mistake. I just wanted views of other level headed people :O)

Tesco made a mistake in siting the cookies BUT anyone with a health problem that requires a special diet should always take a bit of responsibility in protecting themselves as well...

On this occasion nothing dangerous happened to you... complain about their lack of care BUT what else do you expect them to do for you? Compensate you for something that didn't actually happen?
    :hello:
  • i am hoping Tesco will put some kind of checks in place to stop this happening in the future

Sorry to read of your experience OP. I suspect though that the store will say that it is the consumer's responsibility to check the ingredients.

My nephew has a severe peanut allergy so we can never assume anything. And I am surprised these days when I don't find a random dead thing in the veggie chiller cabinet/freezer.

It is not always the shelf stackers' fault. Some shoppers pick stuff up then put it back anywhere. You know, when you find a whole cabbage in with the nappies etc

I thought that but on looking ALL Tesco Free From Range are gluten and wheat free. They can then also be free of the other things you have said.

If you look at he bottom of this link it says just that.

Id say, as a grown up you can accept an apologie and an assurance that they will be more careful in future. You and your partner should also take some personal responsibility in it too. As your illness is so severe you need to be extra vigilant at all times.

What exactly were you hoping to gain from this?
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
