I'm not refering to statutory rights, I'm talking about the employer's own internal disciplinary procedure, which the OP will have reference to. We are not talking about a small company here presumably? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

All you're doing now is proving my point.
Stubble is actually considered to be smarter, trendier and much more tidy than a full beard.
the trend for it has grown hence pages and pages of new products like the Itrim, and dedicated stubble management shavers.
one woman on a forums opinion menas nothing in the grand scheme of what is acceptable.. for me women should wear a blouse and black trousers or knee length skirts minimum.. they dont.. they wear what they like.. so personal opinions dont count for jack..
so in this case you are wrong as the majority consider it tidy and neat and very in fashion0 -
Suppose it depends on what you want out of life. If being a high flyer is not for you and you are happy with mediocrity fine, but I would bet that the guys at the bank earning the millions and retiring at 35 would not be the clock watchers.
these tend to be miserable people with no one in their life making it worth while.. simply people who are drawn to money..
also a good example of people turning up to work when sick negatively effecting the business.. i had swine flu once.. work insisted i stay, 3 days later 18 staff had to take a week off.. because i had passed it on...
people have different immune systems, peoples bodies react differently.. self employed work from home a lot.. the surroundings affect how you feel when ill or run down.. if i was ill and at home i would be a lot more productive than ill and at work..
it seems like you try to make stupid comments to get a reaction for your own entertainment.. sometimes it works.. luckily most people seem to notice your a prat..0 -
I am in effect self employed. Have taken a total of three days of sick in the last five years.
Tis a shame you have such a menial job you cant afford to take time off sick. I hope you find something worthwhile soon and leave this dark period of your life. Not everyone can do well but i wish you the best.0 -

A I'm one of the most productive on my team,
there are plenty of dead wood that take credit for my work but they stay late,
go out with management for drinks after work and so management see them as the most vital members of the team. When actually they are the least effective.
1. You claim to be one of the most productive on your team. Prove it. This is you ammo for the 'meeting'
2. The bottom Section is whats called managing up. Its influencing those above you with emotional intelligence. If you cannot accept that this is what you need to do to get on or you refuse to be part of the culture then your only painting yourself into a corner.
I've posted earlier on some opinion for you to think about with regards to going into the meeting.
However you are being drawn into a mud slinging match by people who are winding you up. If you get this easily wound up by keyboard warriors what are you like in the office! Keep a cool head. let the comments slide off you, focus on the end game and forget the nit picking.
If you spent half as much time compiling a solid documented case of your worth to the business and their apparent dislike of you then you'll breeze the meeting and probably prove yourself (if you are as productive as you say) worthy a pay rise. :beer:0
