I was saving the bulk of my cleaning till tomorrow and Saturday so that I left the place in a good state while away on holiday, until my cousin phoned this morning to say she was going to visit this afternoon:eek:
So, kitchen cleaned, including floor, bathroom bleached and cleaned, hall, stairs and landing hoovered, dusted, dewebbed and air freshenered, living room hoovered, dusted, sofas dusted and wiped, hotspots cleared, in the midst of which DS decided to gut his room so that's been wiped, dusted, hoovered, floordrobe rehomed, bed stripped and remade and basket filled to overflowing with smelly socks and muddy clothes.............
DD's room was blitzed before she went away, my room is still a work in progress but more carp has been escorted to the tip this week.
I need a lie down in a darkened room now, funny how its easy when a visitor is coming!!! What will I do tomorrow I wonder????RIP Iain

Precipitating hard down here, lucky I whisked washing off the line before i went to gym. So far only been to gym, put wm on, read emails and had lunch.
This afternoon's plan:
priority to get remaining horse stuff sorted for Saturday's boot sale
hoovering bedroom would be useful
continue down office/business start-up list
empty dw
I'm sure there are loads of other things that need doing, but if I list them it will be too demoralising as the above could take me well into next week!
I have a technology dilemma (apart from the ongoing wireless keyboard which I hurled on the floor after ripping its batteries out, once it had scr&wed up a few emails): At some stage, I'd like a new printer. Not currently essential, but as/when I get more work, it will be important. My mum's printer has just packed up. If it was January (that being a fair amount of time to save up, assuming I get enough work), I'd pass mine on to her and get my new one. But she needs one now. 2nd part of dilemma: OH's computer has just been declared terminally unmendable. The usual chain of events i.e. about every 5 years, is that I give him mine, then get a new one for myself as I use it the most. So, same financial dilemma. Friend can get him a newish basic one for about £250, but OH bless him said he'll pay for my new one for the time being, so he can have my old one. But being Miss Independent, I'm not terribly happy about him paying. The last computer we bought came with a free printer, so I guess we could give that one to mum. I've got an old laptop, but that's been playing up so I suspect is on its way out too. Anyway sorry to ramble, I'm thinking out loud really.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Well done Madcatgirl! :T
I have managed to compose and print out all the notices for the display boards- just need to mount about 30 pages now! But off to the hole in the wall first, so that the carpenter can go buy more timber and do the stair rails and window boards (for fixing the curtain rails).

Self dunked during bathroom clean, bed made as OH is due home this afternoon having watched his team lose last night (so he won't be happy) DW on, more cutlery found at CS when I dropped off a load of books we don't need any more, bits and pieces bought for tonight's risotto, Mrs Dog walked in a jacket for the first time (it's pi$$ing down), Post Office visit decluttered from list, Gallery visited and chat had with the Lovely L who encouraged me to show the owner my designs which is how I ended up with a greetings card range. She's just had her elbow removed *ouch* *outch* *owoutch*Better is good enough.0

I had a great chat with them last night and told them a) I was moving which they are sorting all of for free including the phone and broadband, b) informed them that I don't get benefit from what I have and what I wanted to stay with them which I then got for a much reduced price. chaching!

Hiya - no we're with Virgin - we're not allowed to install a Sky dish in our current flat. TBH, I wish we could stay with Virgin, but where we're moving to doesn't have the infrastructure yet! So we're a new customer and will have to work out how to get it installed alongside a phone line, hopefully without waiting too long!March 2016 - £178,914.59; July 2017 £146,160.38
Mortgage end Sept 2043; Target - pay off by March 2022, now Sept 2021

Discovered local jeweller (old-fashioned type) buys old gold jewellery so I'll be down there tomorrow. I wear silver now (or white gold, if someone buys it for me) and I have gold stuff from XH which I'll never wear again and DD doesn't want. Every little helps
