Yay Thrifty!!!!
I'm battling with technology. Wifi, my laptop, the internet connection, the printer, a combination, I have no idea whats going on but everything is running slower than a snail in reverse
Going to have tea and will try to carry on working afterwards.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Passed the assignment I thought I would fail so treated myself to a day of not doing much to celebrate. Just done what I've had too.
Well done to the lady that got the job and hugs to those going through a hard time xHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
You rock, Thifty! Congratulations.
Kitchen hob, floor and fronts of cupboards and appliances all sparkley. Two drawers turned out, cleaned and restacked (not enough cupboard space to allow one to get manky), and both bins have been washed out and dried. I've also made 10 second mayo (and it works), and a big bowl of coleslaw. Good day's work all round.

Hi all. I haven't got as much done today as I would've liked, but I have "eaten a frog" and sent a load of questions off to my solicitors regarding insurance and started looking for insurance for the new house. I've really been putting this off, probably because the last house we were going to buy stalled and then collapsed (the sale, not the house) at this stage due to us being unable to get affordable insurance. This is unlikely to happen again, especially with a new build, I know, but I'm really wary about this! Anyway, today's quotes were coming back at about 1/20th of the cost of the house we were going to buy last year, so don't think we're going to have the same problems! I think I have all the information I need now to purchase insurance, so will do this tomorrow.
Other than that, I've done a bit of pottering in the kitchen and decluttered a cuppa and cake with a friend of mine this afternoon. However, the letting agency have called and we have a viewing tomorrow afternoon! It's our first one, so I will be making sure the flat is spick and span tomorrow... good thing I've been flying and S&S-ing the bathroom daily, as it's all looking quite presentable!
Will update my list a bit later once I've ticked off a few more bits in the kitchen.
Hugs to all xxMarch 2016 - £178,914.59; July 2017 £146,160.38
Mortgage end Sept 2043; Target - pay off by March 2022, now Sept 2021
Target balance July 2018 £112,5600 -
Flyladies, you have to help me...
I have been unpacking boxes... two in particular are sitting underneath my breakfast bar and blocking the freezer so they are in the process of being emptied. (I told you id been busy)
However in them are things like Christmas and Birthday Cards, which I tend to never want to throw away... Eventually every couple of years I chuck out a few, keeping the ones I like the most, the ones from DS etc.
Im wondering, it this useless sentimental clutter that I don't really need (ok, yes I know it is really...) but do you ladies have any bright ideas for alternative uses for them (Espeically the ones from DS)? Or are you all a heartless ruthless lot who chuck them out the day after :rotfl:
Thanks
Jo xxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying

I can't help you there Jo, I always leave cards up for 1 week and then sling them. I have seen the junk MiL has in her loft and she keeps offering it to DH and BiL and they don't want it. One day, when she dies or moves into nursing home, it will have to be sorted and it will be a horrid job. That's my reasoning
. You could scan it onto a disc if you wanted to keep pictures of it? Or would you be happy keeping it in a memory box in the loft?
All door frames under coated now.
