  • Another Parking Eye slap down. Retailer: Pizza Hut in Havant. Manager wrote cancelling the charge - ignored by Parking Eye. Wrote to PH MDs - no answer. Went on Facebook and complained bitterly on their page. Almost instant response from senior Guest Relations Executive who wrote in no uncertain terms telling Parking Eye to cancel the ticket and drop the court action that they had no right to launch in the first place. Result!!!! With tks to Pizza Hut for common sense displayed by their staff. Now thinking of launching fraud complaint against PE.:j
This shows the difference between a company running their own facebook page and one (aldi) that uses a pr firm to run it.

Well done! I will add that tip to post #3 (about how to complaint to PH) and a link to this post in post #1. Did you actually get court papers?

    :)

Oh yes! Submitted my skeleton defence (punitive charge, no right to pursue on behalf of landowner, no pre-court practice direction, unfair contract etc etc etc) Got a Without prejudice letter offering to drop it all for £50. told them to boil their heads, got another letter urging me to take the £50 option or court. Said bring it on. Then PH Intervened telling them to stop. :T

Have heard the PH have now ditched PE because of the effect their tactics are having on PH's business. Good-oh.

Faaaaantastic result (boil your heads PE). Oh that other retailers would give them the same heave-ho!

Good on you Pizza Hut, oh that Aldi would grow such gonads.

    Another update.
I followed your fab advice regarding the ticket and got this better than expected reply from Wickes.
Not only has the invoice been cancelled I am also getting vouchers by way of an apology - RESULT

Here is my email from them

    Good Morning Mrs J S,

My name is **** ******, Regional Operations Manager for Wickes in the Yorkshire Region.

I have been contacted by *** ******* this morning who has informed me that you have been issued with a parking ticket whilst parked in the car park at our Halifax store.

Can I first of all sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you have been caused by this and confirm that the ticket has been cancelled with immediate effect and that no payment will be required. We do have issues with the car park being used by members of the public who park for the day and for that reason we have the car park monitored but clearly on this occasion a mistake has been made for which I once again must apologise.

Could I also apologise for any incorrect information you have been given regarding who is responsible for the car park and I have spoken to Mike about this, who you spoke to in the store.

I would really like to apologise to you by phone Mrs Steele if you would be kind enough to e mail me your contact telephone number or contact me directly on my mobile number which is listed below. Could I also trouble you for your home address details as I would like to forward you on some Wickes vouchers as a gesture of goodwill. It is always our intention to offer the best possible service we can and particularly to our regular and loyal customers.

I hope that this goes some way to rectifying the situation and look forward to hearing from you and continuing to be of service.

    Many thanks,

Thanks again, I have been telling all my friends how brilliant you (and wickes) are.

Wow, got to say Wickes take the prize for the best apology and vouchers too! Almost worth getting a fake PCN for!

    :T
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
