I've noticed a much bigger empty space at the top of 4 pints of milk at Tesco.  4cm of empty space to be exact.

Is the bottle actually filled with 4 full pints of milk (or more)?

If it's less, I'd contact Tesco.

But it still contains 4 pints of milk so just packaging reduced.

How does that work?  Surely if the packaging had been reduced the "empty space at the top" would have reduced, not got bigger.

Hopefully the poor turkeys will be able to walk about unaided now.

🤣🤣 I read it that the shelf space had got bigger making the bottle smaller 🤣🤣

I stand corrected, the shape has probably changed but as long as it still contains the correct 2.27l then I don’t see a problem

The increased 'headroom ' for the milk is a good thing. It allows the milk to expand when frozen and probably more of us are snapping milk up on offer and doing this.
  • Posted this on another thread but it actually seems more relevant here.

The very misleading shrinkflation example I saw recently was comfort fabric conditioner.

Described an an XL pack at 2.49 litres. Fair enough, it is quite a large bottle. However, the last time I bought it, it wasn’t described as an XL pack and it was 3 litres. So the packaging implies the bottle has got bigger, when it has actually got smaller. And the price has increased too.

As far as I can tell the bottles are exactly the same shape so they look like they have less milk in them,  I will have to find a variety of jugs to pour it all into and measure!
