I buy the unwashed spuds in the 7.5kg black paper sack - they used to be about £0.33/kg

    Update:

Today Saturday Lidl was selling spuds at £0.31 per kg

Aldi was selling spuds at £0.29 though they were a bit scabby - so some waste and probably not good for storing - bit of a traditional flavour though.

Farm Foods had sold out of 7.5 kg sacks.

  • It all depends on price per whatsit.
Whilst, the Waitrose x4 is the cheapest, the Tesco & Asda x4 are more expensive per Kg and serving than the Sainsbury x3

Think of it as a diet aid.:D

Joking apart I am getting fed up with being charged the same for less.

When the manufactures are quizzed the say it's what the local test panels say they want.

Tell me where these test panels meet and I will take them out.:)

Nestle have shrunk their KitKat Chunky from 48g down to 40g. Yorkie bars have also followed suit in losing around 8 to 9g respectively.

Cadbury have also shrunk Bournville bars from 200g down to 180g and their price marked £1 bags of Giant Buttons have also shrunk from 100g to 80g.

I thought they had as I noticed the shape had changed in my local supermarket.

ASDA have just reduced the pack size they sell from the usual 500g to 250g.

At the time of posting, 500g packs are still available in Sainsbury's for 75p and in Tesco for 72p.
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)
