Come on Griz, you've been on this forum long enough to know better. If you want serious discussion, then go onto the forum you linked.

This is the Forum That Moderation Forgot, well unless you get goaded enough to take on Devon, and Shortchanged sockpuppets, then you get reported to the unevenhanded moderators and banned immediately. Allegedly.

Not much longer for me now. No racism, foul language, or any other unacceptable behaviour from me, just questioning the bias of the board guides and moderators (and talking back to their pets, Graham's Gang), gets you banned sharpish. Just you watch.... ;)

It will also be free to implode, which it most likely will.

Then we can start over again without the ridiculous terms and contracts that royal mail is lumbered with.

Personally I can't see why I'd want Royal Mail shares if I have to buy them unless there is any belief it is being considerably under-valued?
Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...
  • Oh Ok,

Yes I may actually do the same as well but keep some in LTBH.

I do think the instituions will love this as a steady and safe dividend paying share. With rates the way that they are it will increase desire for ownership.

What is the point of Monday deliveries, surely moving to a 5 day model with Tuesday to Saturday deliveries makes mroe sense and ten shutting the network down from Sat AM deliveries to Mon PM collections?

Why would businesses not want a Monday delivery?
    why would they want Saturday?

My concern is that I want to invest big - maybe £75,000 worth - and stag them.

My experience of these things is that it will be oversubscribed and just those applying for the minimum £750 worth will get them! Which makes it pointless really.

I'm still going for the £75,000 worth and stag - but get the wifey to apply for £750 so I have both ends covered.

Why can they not make the minimum amount something decent to make it worthwhile - a minimum of £10,000 would be sensible.

I have had a squint at the staff booklet on this
seems over £10.5K you get lower priority
as for a minimum of £10K. How would you sell that to Joe Punter?

In a competitive environment I am doubtful that Royal Mail will prosper. Their workforce are paid more and receive better terms and conditions than their competitors so how can they compete? I won't be buying any shares.

    What competitors?

He doesn't wasn't Joe amassing wealth, only the those with wealth already.

With the pension liabilities having being transferred to the tax payer I am sure it won't take a privateer long to destroy any remaining "perks".

They have already been undermined AIUI with the workforce having adopted many of the changes requested of them recently to enhance productivity.

Dividends don't tend to get paid without profits who is to say a private RM will make money once it is weaned from the teat?
