You may not have noticed, but the Internet has happened while you've been asleep.

This means lots of parcels flying this way and that .... the letter market is dead, but that's of no issue when the parcels are taking off.

Then, as I have said before, the prime property owned by Royal Mail - this portfolio of bricks and mortar - is worth an absolute fortune .... sell that and I get my money back!

    Win, win, win, win ......

Is the Royal Mail solvent? If so who is providing the liquidity? Who have picked up the pension liability?

If it is in fact loaded with assets isn't their some law regarding transactions at undervalue Guess it doesn't apply when inconvenient for the seller who happens to make the laws.

    Fill your boots. Indulge yourself.

Sell that property and all the local collection points and what can Royal Mail offer over and above any other parcel company?
  • Buy shares in a failling business whose outlook seems massively negative. What a great opportunity. I would invest but I'm too busy ploughing money into Hibu.

Always knew you were a smart investor.

I might throw a small pile into Royal Mail, but first I'll take the advice of my postman. It means getting up early, because he always arrives spot on (roughly) 4 p.m.

Most people are taking their first sip of coffee when the post arrives. I'm having a large gin & tonic because the sun has gone down over the yardarm.

First action of the new owners needs to be to sack the £20 an hour striking muppets on the payroll, and replace them with hard working poles on minimum wage. OK, the letters might be going in the wrong houses, but we'll still get it sorted out between us well before 4 p.m.

I got a Recorded Delivery letter Wednesday. 5:30 p.m. He handed it to me apologising that he had nothing for me to sign, but made a performance of tearing off a barcode telling me "that's the same thing...."

In Loughton, our Post Office is actually a pharmacist. Works pretty well because they can sell a lot of stuff to all us 'oldies' queuing for 40 minutes or more in the heat - out the door - to cure our exhaustion or heat stroke.

I'm hoping that a few shares will allow me to barge all the 80/90-year-olds out of the way, go straight to the front, and instruct the miserable Indian lady "Serve me now. I'm a shareholder."

Taxpayers are picking up the pension shortfall ...... sorted.

It is making a healthy profit ...... sorted.

It has fantastic assets in property ...... sorted.

I will fill my boots, dip my bread and REJOICE in my Xmas profits.

Losers potificate over the details - winners grab and run .....

Yep like the owners will give tuppence whether you wait or not.

I guess you use this technique elsewhere to good effect. I am sure your bank, or Tesco opens an extra till for their important shareholders. remember the days when you paid in acredit, acashier stamped your credit book and you were away. These days you hand over the cheque and they proceed to reprogramme the space station whilst they process your paperwork.

The best customer service I have received recently was from an Indian Bank. The "manager" offered me tea and biscuits (from a tin).

Think about the children. Think about Pricklepants :D
  • If I wasn't getting shares for nothing then I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

I have to keep them for 5 years so that will give the management time to award themselves huge payouts before they wreck the place.

On the bright side,Saturday deliveries should be gone soon.

Another Network Rail in the making.

Not true they will still have to deliver 6 days a week as they are under license to carry this out.

So the taxpayer has bailed them out.

Trust the price you pay reflects the value of those assets.

Just remind me what its probability has been over the years before being massaged into health for sale. What is the return on capital employed?

    What competitors?

DHL, UPS and many other parcel delivery companies. They are in competition with these companies already but whose to say what the future holds as prices are squeezed as new entrants become involved in this expanding business.
Take my advice at your peril.
