In her current actions the sister is accountable to no one. There are suspicious that she is using Mum's money for purposes other than Mum's benefit. If this is so, Mum is being financially abused. (Even if Mum is saying sister's actions are OK, it seems that this is said under duress, so this would defnitely be financial abuse).
So, definitely a situation that needs addressing.
OP, best wishes for getting this sorted.
Thankyou so much for understanding where Im coming from. I am just so upset that my dad left mum a small amount of savings to help her in what time she has left and signs are that my sister and unscrupulious bro have squandered it and are accountable to no one. They must have found out we've been to a lawyer and are going today themselves, however I believe anyone witha poor credit history will not be granted guardianship or P.O.A which makes sense. If someone can't look after their own financial affairs then how can they be responsible for others especially someone vulnerable. Wallacex0 -
Thanks for your comment she is a big woman and the only way she knows how to express herself is with her fist believe me Ive been on the receiving end of it and that is whats keeping other family members away .That is why Im going down the legal route.x
Surely the quickest way to deal with this, is let her use her fists, have her arrested and then she's out for atleast 6 months. Plenty of time to change things for the better for your mum0 -

Am i right in thinking you're worried about your sister having too much control over your mother, yet you're pushing to have control over her yourself?
It comes down to the right sort of control though, the OP is rightly worried about this sister who is violent, threatening and not to be trusted with money.
Control (sounds a bad word to use in this context) should go to whoever has the mums best interests at heart.

Hi I thought I would post an update on the situation. My mum who has been in sisters care since 9th sept was taken into hospital yesterday. By coincidence me and my niece were going to speak with mums doctor yesterday and sister had mum at doctors however she was in talking to the doctor before he examined mum who was being guarded by my other niece. I was concerned about my mum as she looked doped up. I managed to have a word with the dr before he examined mum and relayed my concerns that my sister is doping mum up to give the impression shes got dementia in order to obtain extra benefits to line her own pockets. He told me that I should go to the police as this would be classed as assault. We went to social services to inform them of our concerns and their investigation officers were going to investigate but after phoning mums dr was informed she was admitted to hospital. It seems the dr may have taken notice of what I was telling him. Hopefully they have done toxicology tests to discover if she has been drugging mum.wallacex0
