Contains drug use as well - eat special pills and you gain super powers. :A
As for the bashing your head on bricks to reveal prizes, look what happened when this child copied Mario

They played FIFA for ages and they're both crap at football...I therefore deduce that playing a violent game won't make them violent.

NoMatilda have you played the latest CoD? There are decomposed bodies and stuff. Did you realise? It's grim! And it's graphic.
I know they won't copy the behaviour from CoD but that's not the problem! They won't have sex either but I bet you don't sit them in front of !!!!!!.Hi. Decomposed bodies?
I've racked up 100's of hours on Ghosts and wouldn't say there are 'decomposed bodies'
Sure, there are bodies that have been recently killed but they ain't decomposing. (Unless you're talking about the zombie levels?)
If I felt that it was having a negative impact on their behaviour/social life, I wouldn't let them play. Fact is, they are both mature for their age and know that what is in the game is in the game...it doesn't transfer to real life.
Some children run around using sticks for guns and playing way. My children aren't like that. They play some cod, and leave it all behind when they stop.
Not all children are the same and I recognise that for some parents, it's not something they would allow. I play with them, we take turns and it's a game we can all enjoy... They don't play alone, and they are not violent.
Remember, computer games don't make people violent. Guns don't kill people. Life saving drugs don't just appear on shelves. It all takes humans. I couldn't design a pill to cure cancer and my kids could never harm anyone. It's not in our DNA.
I think the real question should be "would you let a child play World of Warcraft?"
This game (and others like it) will ruin an adults life. A child would have no chance.
I know someone who played Second Life for as many hours as they were at work in a day. Children have died as a direct result of addiction to MMORPG.
Things like is are also a bit about context. I don't let my children swear in general, but they are allowed to swear when they sing along to their favourite music... As it happens, they choose not to swear regardless. (Similar to how they choose not to shoot terrorists point blank with a pump action shotgun, or blow their face off at 100 yards with a sniper)0 -

Games don't make people violent, but that doesn't mean kids should be subjected to adult themes. You know your own children, but overall they are not games for kids. Not because of it making them violent, but because they shouldn't be experiencing such things.
Having said that, you are only seeing the short term effects of the games, which luckily is no effect. You can't possibly predict whether or not such games will affect them later on in life. I'm not saying it's likely to make them violent, but that doesn't mean there are not affects from playing such games at a young age.
WoW and similar games are still the same regarding ages and adult themes. All video games, including WoW and GTA and COD, are also the same regarding addiction.
It's just as easy to get addicted to COD as it is to WoW. You can get addicted to anything.
People have died while playing games through their own stupidity. It's human nature to grab a drink when you're thirsty, sleep when you're tired, eat when you're hungry and yet these people ignore all them natural instincts to keep playing a game. Them things should kick in long before they're too addicted to do anything else. However, that's not the fault of games and it doesn't mean children stand no chance - it means certain people got addicted to something they liked.
If you go into things like that, kids just don't stand a chance at anything in life.0 -
NoNo, I never let my son have 'Grand Theft Auto' or 'Call Of Duty' when he was younger. He is 17 now and never been interested in Grand Theft Auto but does play Call Of Duty.0

NoMatilda I was referring to Black Ops 2 where you open a container full of decomposing bodies.
How have you racked up 100s of hours on Ghosts when it's not out yet?
And as before, just because your kids won't copy the game doesn't mean it's suitable. I can't copy cutting off my testicles because I'm a girl. Would my mum have let me watch videos of men being castrated as a child? Of course she wouldn't have. Because its not always about copying - some things are just disturbing and sometimes way too disturbing for a child.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards.
