But that's what I mean. Yes GTA2 had the driving about and running over people and the guns but it wasn't in a realistic way, it was more arcade style back then. They didn't have the same type of 'sex' theme that the games have now. Yes the violence theme was there and the graphics back then did make it feel to me like an arcade game and nothing like how I view the games since GTA3 onwards.
I agree with Okydoky25 points. When I was 6 I did play a little on the video games we had back then (I'm early twenties, so not long ago) but it was only the odd occasion. Most of the time I was playing with toys or outside.0 -
NoI wouldn't let our 6 year old play these games designed for adults. We don't even play 18 rated games in front of her. mind you she wouldn't want to play them anyway, she's more than happy with Mario, Princess Peach and Little Big Planet!0

NoThe 3 people who voted yes might want to check this out:

An un-skippable (at the moment!) part of the game where you have to actually torture someone. Yikes!Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. NoIf you let your six year old pay this then you are a bad parent and possibly breaking the law. And for that reason im out.0
-
NoThere is no law that prohibits children playing 18 rated games, they just can't buy them. And even them it wouldn't be the minor breaking the law, it would be the shop selling it to them.0

NoWife is a teacher, year 1/2 primary school so probably 5/6 year olds.
Last year, or year before there were these two sets of parents (both friends with each other, in to drugs and all) who don't give a f*ck about their kids, let them play on their xbox all day on grand theft auto and the like.
One child had been moved to military type school, another gone to a foster home. Both had severe psychological problems, partly due to being exposed to things they should have never have seen or played.
I won't even let my young daughter see the news, there are somethings that kids just don't need to know about, sex, violence, drugs, gun crime, war, prostitution all fall in to that category.0 -

You mean like their parents being drug addicts who don't care about them?
Video games and the news aren't responsible for sending kids to military school or being removed from the parents, drug addicted parents with no intention of caring for their offsping are.0 -
NoYep, I agree with the above that it is unsuitable but mainly because it will scare them not because it will make them need military school.Hi. My 7 and 9 yr olds play CoD.
They played FIFA for ages and they're both crap at football...I therefore deduce that playing a violent game won't make them violent.0 -

Mario is just as violent as CoD, it's just less graphic.0
