Just back had a lovely time stared with a drink wine or orange. Talk on the products and then a buffet with all the finest range products had booked the children a place too so all 4 of us had dinner! A few more minutes talk then the chocolate can round followed by tea or coffee and red velvet hand made cake
All took just over 1 1/2 hours
In the goodie bag we got a unique to the event bag block finest cheese . Chocolate wild hand picked mushrooms and a bag of fusilli pasta sorry I can't work out how to post a piccy0 -
Nearly forgot the children were given a goody bag as well0

Not sure if I'm having a moment, but how do you find out what's on and what stores run the evenings as I can't see anything on the link!?!
Thank you0 -
I would have to say the Finest evening is much better than the Bakery one.
Tried a few hams which were nice and thick, I never got to check the prices though. 3 cheeses - a cheddar, a Wensleydale and a Reblochon which I will definitely be making a regular purchase from now on and they had some nice preserves to go with them as well.
Two different types of chocolate 73% dark and a 43% Peruvian chocolate which was nice and caramelly. There was also an amazing Red Velvet cake and although they said it cost £10 I would say it was definitely worth it.
We never got any coffee, but they had two varieties of tea and I also enjoyed their elderflower drink.
The Finest bag also looks a lot smarter than the bakery one too.
High scores for Tesco from me.0 -
Hi, I went to the Finest Food Event at Tescos Purley tonight. We tried hams, cheese (brie, cheddar, wensleydale) pickles, chutney, biscuits, houmous and dip, with red, white and rose wine. Then we tried chocolate, tiramisu cake and red velvet cake washed down with speciality teas and coffee. All yummy and they gave us a goody bag with handmade pasta, wensleydale cheese, handpicked wild mushrooms and a bar of loverly chocolate. MMmm! Definitely worth going if you get the chance.0

Thanks for that link. All are too far.
Their mileage is way out, it says my nearest one is 33 miles away in Somerset. Maybe as the crow flies across the Bristol channel! It also reckoned that Exeter was only 37 miles from me! (I live in between Cardiff and Swansea.) Google maps says it's 124 miles.0 -

Keep checking last time my local wasn't listed but it was this time SA said they were intending to do the evenings at all Tesco's eventually0 -
Thanks for the link! I just had a check, and there were limited spaces available at the Sandhurst (The Meadows) branch for today! I've just been accepted for 7.30pm tonight for me and OH!I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum
