Its a new build house, will they be able to gain access to the loft via the cavity?0 -
napalm............As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.0

Yes they will, they will climb up through the cavity wall insulation.

If there are lots of them sounds like bees at this time of year. A bit too early for wasps.0

I have wasps trying to get in through the gap between the brick and pipe from my washer to the drain. After reading on line and spraying around with wd-40 they will not land on it at the moment. I will get the husband to take the cupboard back off and see if there is a nest there. Anyone else ever used wd-40.SWAGBUCKS Nov 17sbs redeemed; 2 x £5 Amazon

bees/wasps loads of them! I can't work out where they are coming from and I'm allergic i've tried following them round but still cant work out where they are coming from. Any ideas what I can put out to get as many as possible whilst I hunt down the nest? How far do they fly from the nest etc?0

Mortar bees (or, to give them their correct name, masonry bees) are a rare and protected species. They will move-on in 3 months or so. At this point you need to check the condition of the mortar between the bricks and get those holes filled.Never Knowingly Understood.

:hello:
Help how can I get rid of wasps in window vents just at front door. Not many hovering about but my daughter is terrified !!!!! All suggestions appreciated   :idea:0 -
This morning i discovered a Wasps nest, just out side my living room window. After finding lone wasps in my living room i went hunting. It seems they are using an air brick, i cant see anything but it looks like they are in the wall cavity. after reading this forum i thought about getting some powder to deal with the problem. if i'm honest Wasps don't really bother me, i'd rather leave them be. This morning however i found one one my son's nappy (we have 2 year old twins) and although he seemed more fascinated i was horrified at the thought of him being stung as my wife is allergic to them. The problem i have, is that i can't see how they are entering the living room and am worried that if i powder the air-brick they might be forced to find other ways out......my living room for example. i do have laminate rather than carpet so there are some small gaps i can imagine tem finding........powder or not to powder?
Cheers peeps0
