Or you could leave it for this year.

Apparently wasps not renest in the same place so they will be gone by next year.

I don't want to leave the nest as it is right outside my bosy bedroom window and I don't want their room full of wasps.

I will try the wasp killer powder tonight!

    Hello rca779

I've merged your thread with an existing 'wasps nest' thread, if you read back from post #1 you'll find some useful information.

    Regards

  • I remember some years ago knocking down a wasps nest in a shed at my summer cottage. I did it with a very long piece of wood having an open door close at hand to make a fast escape. After knocking it down I ran into the house and slammed the door shut. I certainly wasn't going to hang around!!
Later that day I went back to the downed nest. It was complete deserted. Our waspy friends had decided to move. Thank God.

Many thanks roddydogs :T , I did exactly as you said, bought some powder, sprayed it all around the crack the wasps were getting in and hey presto after just one application the wasps were gone :j

I have since filled the cracks so that they can't get in there any longer :T .

I, or rather my 8-year old son has discovered a wasp nest in his playhouse roof!
I daren't go near it - peering in from one of the windows it looks like a ball/mass of 'something' stuck to the inside roof of the playhouse.
What should I do? I feel like getting a long stick and whacking it down, but I won't make it back up the garden path to the house before I'm caught.

Just been up the loft and found a big one with wasps crawling all over it about the size of a football, came down and searched it on here and my daughter then said there is 2 in the playhouse:eek: . Went out and they were the size of ping pong balls...whacked them down ran like the clappers then came back, nowt in it and chucked them over the fence...I think I will leave the one in the loft??? Not sure, my heart rate is slightly faster than usual...but I would try the whack and run idea wear somethings big like a hooded dressing gown or something and long trousers with elastic bands on the bottom of the legs??? oh man I feel sick!!!:rotfl:
You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
    You just keep on walking
