    Hi
He visited the newly branded TSB down the road today to pay some money into a Lloyds TSB account for my sister who lives in the US and was not happy to be told that he wouldn't be able to do this in a few weeks.
Since apparently your dad is now a TSB customer, this is obviously complete rubbish. He was in his own bank and he can pay anybody anywhere.

I realise it's been a confusing and demoralising time for staff, but I'm starting to get the impression that some TSB staff have got some sort of death wish. The place isn't coming across as being inspired with enthusiasm.

Quite so, i missed a appointment today my first ever miss, and while in the queue i was approached by a assistant asking me what business i had, i expllained i wanted to open/transfer a Lloyds TSB basic account to a TSB basic account.

I have seen and spoke to this woman plenty times, been with Lloyds TSB over 8 years and she asked me if i work, i said no thats why i want a basic account - she said she "We dont do basic accounts you could try the co-op or post office...and we cant fill up a diary for you just to miss your appointments"

I had enough so said "I am not filling any diaries up, it is 1 missed appointment the first in 8 years" i saw the slight smile drop off her face and she left me alone - what a awful attitude to have in a bank, you would think i was employed by her not that i am a customer.

Lloyds were dreadful, but the same staff are at the bank, its the same old stuff with a different name tag.
    Owed out = lots.

I am wondering, because i only want a transfer can TSB refuse me on the basis or bad credit reports? Even though if they refused me i would be left without a bank account?

I dont think they can do a "transfer" on customer request for basic accounts. TSB is a new bank now and you will need to follow their procedure to open an account.

How are you left without an account? You still have account with lloyds right? it may not be convenient branch location but have they closed the account? sorry if u have already mentioned this earlier..

A "transfer" isn't an option, they can only treat you as a new customer. They're not supposed to refuse basic accounts, but they can try.

If you've still got the Lloyds account, your card should work in a TSB machine.

What assurances did your previous bank give you had you stayed with them? did you have a fixed / tracker mortgage which new bank is failing to honor?

Given no choice about staying with them!! That's the whole point. TSB are honouring the SVR at the moment but for how long? And if Lloyds maintains the 2.5% but TSB puts it up, I'm screwed!

    Still an angry old lady!

But if TSB maintain the 2.5% but Lloyds put it up, then you're in luck!

You're getting angry for the sake of getting angry.

The legal view within LBG is that the T&Cs of your mortgage do not allow them to vary the 2% link to base rate. Those T&Cs remain the same whether you're with Lloyds or TSB.
  • Newbie here. Has anyone experienced anything such as the below?

    * Upon logging on to Lloyds internet banking, found my savings a/c had disappeared. I have a current a/c, a loan, a credit card and an instant access savings a/c [now gone]
    * My home page now showed the first three a/c's, but also details of a pension fund. I don't have a pension.
    * Following nearly two hours of phone calls between Lloyds and TSB it appears that I was sent letters telling me that one of my four accounts was to be transferred to TSB - but I've never rec'd these. I cannot access the account that has indeed been moved to TSB, because the security details I have given them are not being recognised by TSB. My 'new' TSB account has an address associated wit it that I haven't lived at for over 10 years - there have been numerous address changes since then. This is probably why I have never had the letters.

No one can explain why I am seeing details of a pension fund that isn't mine. Neither can they explain why the account with TSB was moved with a very, very old address associated.
