    nothing new there!
  • I was unable to login to either Lloyds or the TSB site all day yesterday - even after they declared all fixed. My account has been moved to the TSB.

I'm sure I had a letter from them about the switchover that said nothing would change initially on the online banking side.

Spoke to the Helpline yesterday and they said there were still a few issues and could I try again tomorrow (Tuesday).

Still wasn't working by lunch time so called them again, spoke with a number of different people where they eventually said "yes there is a problem on our system, we need to de-register you from Internet Banking and you need to re-register"

What a farce, I did this then got a message saying username is in the post ! I asked if I could log a complaint as this was far from an as promised "Seamless" transition - got through to complaints and the person I spoke to said now that I have re-registered - to try my old username and password.

They wouldn't accept a further complaint as to why I had to do all this and get passed around.

Low and behold it worked ! Still complete tripe though that customers should have to go through this - clearly they have a major !!!! up, I've banked with TSB - LloydsTSB - now TSB again for over 20 years.

I switching next week when the fast swictching service kicks in.

  • Hi

Have just been speaking to my Dad who has had a Lloyds account for 73 years and has been "lucky" enough to transfer to a TSB branch in Yorkshire

Apparently if he were to switch to a LLoyds branch 10 miles away all the goodwill he has built up over 73 years would be lost and he would have a new sort code, account number , etc etc

He visited the newly branded TSB down the road today to pay some money into a Lloyds TSB account for my sister who lives in the US and was not happy to be told that he wouldn't be able to do this in a few weeks.

All my family previously banked at Lloyds until the EU informed us we couldn't. My parents like to pay money into our accounts at their local Lloyds as they will not use internet banking.

They will now have to visit the branch 10 miles away or go to the post office instead.

I don't think this has been thought through properly, why wasn't Lloyds TSB made to get rid of the Halifax rather than Lloyds branches that had served customers perfectly happily for years. Surely some kind of reciprocal arrangement can be made for Lloyds and TSB branches.

Once again the EU has managed to interfere with how we run our lives.

Lloyds TSB customers didn't want to change - so why should :(they be inconvenienced it just isn't fair!!

Thought I had logged into the Daily Mail website for a minute...

I have never seen anything from the EU that your father's branch had to become TSB. Lloyds chose to keep Halifax and divest TSB.

    Quite.

The EU didn't screw with anybody. Lloyds didn't want the guy's dad as a customer.

    Ahhh... back to Lloyds. :)

I joined Lloyds Bank 21 years ago, so it's nice to going back to that rather than this strange "Lloyds TSB" hybrid. :D

Haven't tried my online banking yet, though...

I opened a Lloyds account in January of 1986 ... I'm now a customer of the TSB !!

I'm actually rather annoyed that they punted me after all that time !
  • Been a Lloyds customer for 35 years - did not want to move to TSB - so that's ok EXCEPT that I found out just last week that there was never any choice in the matter of my mortgage. Have only 6 years to go. Of course, I can transfer back to Lloyds - which means re-mortgaging, fees and the loss of the SVR of 2.5%.
This was done really sneakily - never at any time was it mentioned that there was no choice in the matter.

I didn't wait for the transfer - I closed most of my Lloyds TSB accounts and opened new Lloyds accounts. At the moment I am 'running down' my 2 old current accounts which are now with TSB. When they are sorted they will be closed.

Had no problems since the initial glitch was sorted - can access all accounts, each on their own sites.

My worry is that TSB, being a small bank with no toxic assets (!) will be unable to maintain the SVR of 2.5%. It is unclear how long my current terms and conditions will survive - a minimum of 2 years seems to be the current consensus. But what happens then?

Someone at the bank (and I'm not sure which one!) told me that the SVR could go up at Lloyds and I could be better off in the end. But that would have been MY choice - to stay with Lloyds and bear the consequences. But they have taken away the choice and there doesn't seem to be a thing I can do about it.

Thinking of the Official Ombudsman - but is it really worth it?

I'd be interested to know how they decided which accounts to switch. In my house (girlfriend, her daughter and myself) all hold/held LloydsTSB accounts but they've decided that my girlfriend and her daughter will be TSB and I will stay Lloyds...

I can only assume it's because I'm potentially more lucrative to Lloyds as I've had loans and got a credit card with them in addition to current and savings accounts whereas the ladies in my household only hold current and savings accounts...

it is to do with the sort code as i registered in England and I live in Scotland they have chosen Lloyds for me, but I have to use bank of scotland not convenient as i am oap may transfer to new bank.
