Confused oap,
went to pay truscard in lloyds tsb was told in future had to go to bank of Scotland ,because my account was in England, been with tsb over 50 years,if I wish to stay with them I would have to change direct debits bank cards exc at a cost to me .
What a mix up having been a loyal customer for over 50 years.
Confused ,maybe its time to move to another bank .
How can they tell you so bluntly ?.0 -
No. It would be a complete waste of your time and energy, so don't bother.
Agree. It's a bit unclear what the complaint would be about, seems to be just emotion? In any case, Granma P would first have to complain formally to Lloyds, and give them up to 8 weeks to resolve the matter to her satisfaction.0 -

And some dog biscuits. Though I suppose introductory cups of tea would be out of the question."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -
For me it means i am now screwed, TSB say they have no such thing as a basic bank account, and that i can not transfer my account to TSB. The only hope i have is making a new TSB account, which i was told today "We do not do basic accounts" again. I have had a basic account with Lloyds around 8 years and still TSB are wanting proof of ID.
All i use the bank for is my benefits and a couple of direct debits, it seems to me that TSB have not made any provisions whatsoever for customers with basic accounts to be transferred to them from Lloyds.
I find this whole process to favour anyone with a credit card and a better than basic bank account, rather than anyone on benefits.
Over 8 years i have built up no goodwill whatsoever, despite never being allowed to, never offered a tiny loan, always refused a account upgrade, always refused a credit card and even though i have a £10 buffer on my account in case i go over, they always try to charge me £10 if i ever use it.
Is it worth me contacting the Ombudsman about them making no provisions or options for basic account holders?Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

It seems I did not make myself clear on my previous post. I have already complained to Lloyds TSB - several times, in fact and have not, until recently, got a straight answer. This is because the staff themselves did not know what was going on.
My main objection is that the bank led us to believe that changing/staying was a choice - and not once did they point out that this did not apply to mortgages. They have sold my mortgage, lock stock and barrel without my full knowledge or consent. And this actually took place on July 15th!
The really peculiar thing is that my mortgage was originally TSB - and the sort code at the beginning of the mortgage was not included in the transfer to TSB for all other accounts.
I think it is really high-handed of LloydsTSB to sell off my mortgage account without full assurances that I will not be worse off with the new bank.
I have lost my 35 years of banking history and have a new sort code and account number (not easy to remember at my age!) but thankfully, the bank manager is someone whom I have dealt with in the past. I am a devotee of internet banking and LloydsTSB has one of the best.
If it weren't for my mortgage, I wouldn't be so miffed!
Still an angry old lady0 -

What assurances did your previous bank give you had you stayed with them? did you have a fixed / tracker mortgage which new bank is failing to honor?0
