I think you assume wrongly. It's decided on where the accounts are held. If it's a branch that has become TSB the accounts are switched to TSB.

I suppose at the end of the day it doesn't make a great deal of difference ;) I will not be losing any sleep over it...

My account was opened in a different county to that of my girlfriend but it was a TSB branch at the time. There was a seperate lloyds bank in the town back then...

Been able to fill in an application form for a Classic account now. Though the application process is still shambolic - - all the terms and conditions links give error 404, and the print button at the end results in a server error.

There was no instant decision - apparently they will be in touch in the next 7 days.

I also tried to apply for an eSavings account. Not because of their brilliant rates, just wanted to have one. Application process ended in saying I was not entitled to one of these. That's the first time ever that anyone wouldn't let me open a savings account.

You can only open the esavings account after you have the classic one and only through Internet Banking.

Ah right, thanks! Would have helped if I had read the account details, doh!!
You need to have a TSB current account to apply for an eSavings account.

    Haha. No problem, it happens.

I have done the same for the Enhance Account and had the same results with the 404 errors and also when I went to print the summary it came up with a "Runtime Error".

Have spent 30 minutes on hold to the phone line asking if they have actually received the application only to be finally advised to try again tomorrow, as they are fairly sure it won't have gone through due to computer problems today. They have no way of finding out.

I tried explaining that i don't want 2 credit checks showing. But they can't help.

So not too sure what to do now - maybe wait and see if I receive any correspondance within the 7 working days, before applying again

I am waiting for a week or so to see whether I get anything in the post. Wouldn't want any unneccessary credit checks.

just opened first TSB classic account.Did it on Firefox rather than IE (10 failures) Other 3 Lloyds TSB accounts seem to have stayed with Lloyds.
Have to wait for bumpf thro post (can then ?? change to ENHANCE account ?).
Best to wait ? for paperwork before trying to open a/c No 2 and No 3, remembering that if you tried to do more than one online with Lloyds TSB, it seemed to bin anything after the first online one.
  • I have applied for one TSB classic too today, did not seem to be any option to add Enhance to the account during application maybe have to wait until you get online details. As everyone else stated when you click to check terms and conditions an 404 error message comes up and another error message when you try to print.

Am I to get account No 00000001 ????

    From the 'other ' thread
    I applied this morning.
Used IE and found a link on their site that works to open the Classic with Enhance account directly.

    http://www.tsb.co.uk/current_accounts/classic_and_classic_plus_accounts.asp#tab4

this just worked for me. don't know why it is a different page. Wonder whether I can open two more of the classic with enhance, and bin the classic/no enhance
