Valli you will cope, you won't like it but you'll soon adjust. Just got back from Nottingham Uni, tired from the drive and it has joined, Bath and Kent on the no list.
No flying planned here today as I deserve to sit on the sofa with beer and pizza.
Welcome newbies. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
hello moonstorm i am just like you, i am 24 i have been with my OH for 6 years and we have a (on the 26th of this month) 5 year old Dd, a just turned 2 ds1 and a 8 and a half month old ds2, i have not been drinking for 3 years, and i dont have any "proper" friends, i have just joined flying too
ETA, OH has just cooked spag bol, then did dishes and hoovered up the mess from the kids, i put my last load back on the line as the weather improved so am just waiting for 5 things to dry then i can get on and iron.
what is AnWs patented dot-to-dot method!
please?0 -
AnWsmum (and the flylady who brought us the sad news this week) devised this method to help her get her home back on track (I think).
So rather than look at a whole room which is a total mess (often referred to as RoD - Room of Doom) she started working on one area - say a table. She would get it cleared then aim to keep it clear and clean. The next time she was working on that room she would pick a second area...and so on. So these were the 'dots' - the cleaned/cleared areas within a room. The aim was, eventually, to have all the dots joined. Hence dot-to-dot.
This method acknowledges that, for whatever reason, you may have a 'disaster' area which is too much to tackle in one go.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

You sound like you may be in need of AnWs patented dot-to-dot method!

A fab definitionand it does work. At one point we had a HOD (House of Doom :eek::eek::eek:) which like Rome was not built in a day. Another fave phrase round here is babysteps.
Done some half hearted flying, really need to step it up a gear. Dot 2 dotting is definitely the way.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -

Indeed if anyone has one at Leicester and needs a secret squirrel spy please shout
AnW do you still have the DR of doom? I do. Last time I had a clean house was the last week of toots stars.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Hello
! Well, the kids rooms are swapped and they are just putting away their last bits and pieces.
We haven't got any painting done today, I am just about to neck a cuppa and then will go and do some sanding. Once the kids have gone to bed, I will then try to get some undercoating done so that it's dry enough to paint tomorrow. Not sure whether I'll achieve that or not but it has to be worth a shot.
The kids have had their beds swapped into their new rooms and just swapped furniture with each other. They have even swapped stereos so they didn't need to move them. Think they both realised that the stereos were bought with the available space in mind.
Both now have alarm clocks which work and both have spotlessly clean rooms and windows which DH has washed inside and out with his special autoglym car window stuff. Glad he's done that as he seems to have nice clean windows when I drive his car- even in yesterday nights torrential rain.
I have 2 black sacks worth of clothing to be rehomed, 2 black sacks of rubbish binned and a large plastic tub full of stuff to go.
I have washed 6 loads of washing so far today and have about 3 left to go. Some has been able to dry on the line but only 1.5 loads. The rest has been TD'd for speed of processing.
Rest of the house looks like carnage but it will be an easy fix tomorrow and this evening as I just need to fold up the washing and put away the clothes. I can do this once bedroom floors are clear.
Piggers, glad baby Poppy is well. Poor mite being in pain though.
Am glad someone described AnW's dot to dot method, hadn't got as far as looking it up. I do this, it makes life easier to cope with.
Have found much expensive missing stuff in DD's bedroom such as my linking shears, the tweezers, kitchen scissors, about 20 sets of nail clippers, my one step face base etc etc. all now rehomed.

Hex no I can honestly say it is not a ROD anyomre BUT the table is presently covered in lego and the 'ironing' pile is in the corner so it would take less than a HHC to clear, however..............
Just don't ask about the rest of the house :eek::eek::eek:Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
