    Brilliant news x
  • Meeting done and hopefully the youth club will be a success. More washing put on and td on. Oven heating now for dinner, i'm starving. While away OH and DS1 have cut the grass ;), lit the fire and unloaded reloaded dw. DS1 already had a bath, DS2 in bath now then DD can go after, DS3 can go after dinner.

Hoping they'll watch a movie later then bedtime. I might just cut my hair while there watching movie, fancy a fringe.

Better go shhhh DS2 out of the bath, i swear he's only lying there.

Glad to hear she's doing well - my prayers and posivibes continue heading her way.

Been out with DH all day; went to "at home" coffee morning at the vicarage with new incumbernt, then visited three fireplace showrooms and managed to find we one both like :j at a price we can just about afford :j and also went to Dune1m and got a really nice "crystal" light shade for the stairs (to be hung on a long pendant) for far less than I expected to have to pay :money: Oh yes, we also called at a garden centre for a hot pork sandwich :p and to buy some cheap locally grown veg; DH was allowed to visit the model railway shop to get some bits with his club member's card :money:; and we also got the car cleaned for free at the dealership :money:

Not a cheap day, but it could have been much worse.

I have done WMx1 and will hang out the bedding to blow for an hour or so to save on the TD costs - there's a nice breeze and even a bit of sun around still :money:

CY, I hope you get your boiler fixed properly.
    Bossy, enjoy your school breakfasts!
    Mumto5, hope you're having a better day.
Welcome to newbies and returners, congratulations to all who have achieved a lot this week, and hugs to all who need them.
  • Hello, brand new here, although i have lurked the past 2/3 weeks :) hope it will be ok to join your wee community, everyone seems so lovely and supportive of each other.

Bit of background about me, im 25 and living near edinburgh, i have a fiance and one 6 year old boy from a previous relationship, and my fiance has a 4 year old girl from a previous relationship. I dont really have any "friends", im not originally from scotland (im from england) and have never really found anyone i would consider friend-worthy. I dont really have the same hobbies as people my age up here, seems most females want to go out and have fun, guy after guy, drink and such whereas i prefer my home comforts, organising, tidying and cleaning lol! But i wanted to join this community to get more organised. Things havent been easy for me for a long time and only seem to be getting back on track now. After spending many years with my abusive ex my home is just.. well no matter how much i clean and tidy it always seems a mess, a lot of junk and bric-a-brac. I think i spend more time planning and writing lists of what i want to do or achieve than actually completing my goals.

    My aims:
    1. To have a clean and tidy home
    2. To easily maintain upkeep of our home
    3. To be more organised with bills/appointments/daily schedules
    4. To ensure a happy enviroment for our family
    5. To bond with some of the lovely peoples i have seen using this community and make friendships
    6. To try and help and support others :)

I look forward to joining in and getting to know you :)
    xxx

I need to go to Sainsbobs for dinner and CBA. Motivation, where are you?!
Well, since you weren't using it I have borrowed it *flings it back up*

    I have cleaned bathroom
washed out luxury cat toilet (way to posh to be called a litter tray) as it was - erm 'fragrant'
Brought in all washing; duvet cover ironed ready to go back on

MOVED BED and hoovered under/behind it
    de-furred curtains
clean ALL upstairs windows with spray and MF cloth, also shower screen * shades being worn'
and my bedroom is a WIP:D
Mopped DS's bedrrom carpet where he spilled something. On a positive note I am so looking forward to having a clean, tidy, back bedroom. ;)

    Bossy
    - yes no days? YOU ROCK!

Mummyroysof3 factor in running costs too, does it cost much to heat? I know zip about these things.

Right I have the chair bed out of the loft, so I'm going to frame myself after I've eaten...

I have read the healthy start newsletter from school :rotfl: packed lunch guidelines! Doesn't affect us, but, really? DS had pasta, ice cream and cake nearly every day this week for school dinners! Double standards?

Anyway, they also do a breakfast club in the school hall. Under 8s need to be accompanied so parents are welcome too. This will be perfect for us on Mondays, when I want to get DD to nursery 45 min before the start of school. Not enought time to get home in between, but too long to hang out at the gate if the weather isn't great. So, DS and I can go have brekki together for 50p each!:T cereals, fruits and toasts, juice and milk or tea / coffee for us big people! What a bonza idea! MIL said she will do the same on Wednesdays. With the added bonus of getting DS used to going in the hall with the big scary curtains!

On Tuesdays he will get breakfasts at wrap around club, so that's all our mornings organised when DD and I are at nursery / work. Hurrah!

ETA mummyyoffive mine are very little but I do insist they help when they are able - we call them yes days and no days. Months ago, we had a no day where I said no to everything: snacks, stories, play doh, park and so on :rotfl: they lasted about an hour before they were begging me for a yes day. Now if they say no, I say "oh good, are we having a no day?" And plonk myself on the sofa / nearest chair :p within minutes they are "mum, yes, yes, come on!" Lol

Great news about the breakfast club!

I wish our boss would issue guidelines about healthy packed lunches! You wouldn't believe what some parents send!

Re school dinners - these are regulated high heaven these days. I'd be surprised if he had what he said every day - ours have one of 3 choices meat meal - eg roast/fish fingers +chips/burger/lasagne/curry, vegetarian option or baked potato with cheese or beans or coleslaw. Do you have a copy of the menu?
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j

Welcome Moonstorm. With your attitude and intentions I'm sure you will be fine here. Don't be daunted by the lists, it gets easier as you work through a few weeks. What doesn't get done will soon be round the following week.

Very busy day. My hair is chopped my nails are lushlicious pink. Feel much better for a bit of pampering.

In addition to the self maintenance I've done 5 x WM, 3 x TD, 3 HHI.
I've hoovered HSL and cleaned the oven.

DS3 survived the sleepover. He's only had 6 hours sleep and is remarkably untired. I am exhausted.
