  • What a day have only just sat down but house looking so much better. Floors all hoovered, clean clothes all folded and put away (i lost count how many loads but full work bench filled to ceiling), bedrooms all tidy, livingroom tidy and i can't remember what else i done. :rotfl:

Now my back and foot is so sore, back always been a problem but i think i have a corn under my toe, took a pair of scissors last night and cut the !!!!!! off (well a good chuck of it). Really think i need to make an appointment at the foot doctor. :(

Pigpen so glad to hear your news, fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Right bed for me, DS1 has football tomorrow morning and then me and kids are heading up to find out about this new deaf youth club at 2. Hopefully get a pile more flying done tomorrow. :D
Life is short, live it. Love is rare, grab it. Anger is bad, dump it. Fear is awful, face it. Memories are sweet, cherish it.”
  • So pleased to her Poppy's news Pigpen - must be such a relief for all her family and friends :grouphug: Hopefully this operation will keep her stable for a long time and she'll have an easier time of it from now on.

Very little flying done here today due to guests and tiredness. Am pretty pleased with overall progress this week though and the majority of the house is now very liveable. It's also helped with the menu planning and eating fresh food - when the kitchen's messy it puts me off wanting to do any exciting in there. We've had home-cooked-from-scratch meals every day this week and is probably the first week in ages where we've exceeded the 5 portions of fruit and veg a day :j

Am carbooting on Sunday so will hopefully get rid of more household tat then, at this rate we'll have a lovely clean house in no time!

  • Picked up boys, deposited them with their Dad, collected DD, drove home from Wales. Had a lovely shower and an even lovelier Italian supper, now cwtched on the sofa watching The Truman Show -- love this film despite Jim Carrey(?sp)'s face. Prepared to bawl at the end.

    A hectic but smashing day.

Little Poppy is out of surgery and survived the op and is doing well. The next few days are critical but for now she is ok :D

Glad to hear this. I'm back from mums - and my stress levels are through the roof!

Took DD1 to the social at school tonight - her first chance to see the changes to the building. We both had a good time. Some of her old teachers were there - one asked her what year she is in now - answer - 'I'm 23 next month! Everyone laughed.

DD2 has left to spend 2 nights away at b/f's mum's wedding. DD2 is under the weather (tummy trouble) - fingers crossed she is okay this weekend. They get back on Sunday and b/f heads straight back to Uni. Fingers crossed that DD2 copes....

Have joined the forum as even oldies can slip into a rut of 'can't be bothered', and I really need pull my socks up. I shan't be able to contribute every day, hope that's okay, as I have a lung prob which makes breathing a bit difficult some days (the days I can are a bonus ;)) when I do the bare minimum. The lists on page 1 are a good reminder so even if I just get the notifications it will remind me of the extra's I'm (supposed to be) doing.
As a start today I did all the tops - ceilings, doors etc, and bottoms - skirting boards, front and back steps. Amazing the amount of spindly spiders that disappeared up the vacuum spout!

Just got in from work. The tech came and went in just enough time for me to shoot out the door to work, so I wasn't late.
It's sooooo nice to be able to type properly again without having to use the on-screen keyboard.

You can get sewing machine needles especially for denim, because it's so tough.
Great thanks :) I need materials and coloured threads for some other projects, so I'll make sure I pick one up.

Even cleaned the grotty bit where the cats eat. Why do cats think food tastes better if it is dragged onto the floor?
My dog will grab a mouthful of biscuits, bring them into the front room, spit them out onto the coffee table and THEN eat them (one by one).

  • just popping in quickly, some flying but not much.

Crossed an item off DoD's bucket list on Thursday as it was 2 year anniversary of his passing and another long chat with DoM.

DD1 finally starting packing last night at about 6pm, which included rifling
through everyone elses wardrobes for long borrowed items/misfiled clothing.

Not much fun for me though as DD3 hurt her foot at school and badly sprained it, but no one was available in medical room so she carried on walking on it, her ankle was the size of a grapefruit when she came home. So packed up the littlies for another trip to Minor Injuries, and now DD3 is on crutches.

Supposed to be leaving in 3 hrs but haven't been to bed yet......DD4 is asleep, but my body says its Daisy time

hugs sticks and spoons to all, will catch up properly later

Pigpen thinking of Poppy, lots of good wishes winging her way
The cold never bothered me anyway

Morning all. Up at silly o'clock as the dogs didn't settle again last night. Sickdog is taking longer to recover than the other two which is to be expected. I also think they are missing DD who is away this week.

Hugs where needed. Good news re Poppy.

I thought I'd list what I HAVE done this week rather than fretting over what I haven't:

    Monday - Kitchen
    15 Minutes..
Wipe out the fridge, note what needs using up or restocking
    30 minutes to spare..
    Sweep the floor
    Got an hour...
Wipe the surfaces, removing things which don't belong here as you go
    Extra challenge:
check for birthdays in the next few weeks.

Tuesday - Living Room, Hall and downstairs loos
    15 Minutes..
15 minutes tidying, putting away or sorting a pile in the corner
    30 minutes to spare..
    Hoover the floor
    Got an hour...
Work on that paperwork mountain with 15 minutes shredding, filing, recyling etc

Wednesday - In memory of our dear friend Toots
    15 minutes ......
make contact with somebody you have been meaning to email/text/phone or visit
    Got an hour .........
Then it's me time, life is too short, when our final day comes we will all still have a 'to do list' so do something you enjoy for an hour

    Thursday - Bathroom and study
    30 minutes to spare..
    Wipe the window ledge
    Got an hour...
    Hoover floor
Descale the shower or bath screen/tiles
Dust up high, being careful not to injury yourself

    Extra challenge:
    Delete some emails/favourites/old documents
Check renewal dates for Driving License/home insurance/passports/MoT/tax etc

Friday - Bedroom, you choose which one
    15 Minutes..
Strip the bedding and remake with fresh linen
    30 minutes to spare..
Hoover right into the corners and under the bed if you can
    Got an hour...
Do you have a bedroom hotspot - deal with it

Today, I have the big shop to do and a haircut booked in along with the usual dailies.

    Catch you all later.
Spend less now, work less later.
