Got my bum into gear this week as every year I fly for so long then tend to slack off. Every Christmas week I rush round like an idiot trying to get everything done and end up stressed instead of enjoying the Christmas run up.
I am determined this year I am going to keep up with the flying. Got motivated last Friday when I went and did a little cleaning for my dad. So this week I have
Monday
Blitzed kitchen, worktops, cooker, oven, fridge, paintwork and window.
Even cleaned the grotty bit where the cats eat. Why do cats think food tastes better if it is dragged onto the floor? Did washing and put it away
Tuesday, living room dusted and vac and mopped, sofas washed and conservatory washed down. Windows done. Daily washing and put away
Wednesday, stairs and landing and bedrooms dusted and vac. Paintwork washed on landing and stairs. Kids bedding washed and put away
.
In Memory of Toots I sat and knitted and read kindle.
WASHING SODA CRYSTALS AND THICK BLEACH MIXED TO PASTE GETS RID OF WINDOW MOULD paint on the mould and leave for around 6-8 hours.
This is remarkable as I have spent a fortune over the last few years trying everything available. It gets mould off silicone round the bath and if a thinner paste is used it gets mould marks off walls or ceilings, only leave for 5 min though on walls and ceilings and keep an eye on it. This tip came from old style on here but can't find it again to credit the OP. So OP if you read this THANKYOU
Thursday Bathroom and toilet and kitchen and bedroom windows bleached and soda . Our bedding washed and put on creel.
Friday dug a hole and filled it in. Did a check of all rooms and tidied and fetched dishes, pots, washing, cats, downstairs. Swished and swiped where needed. Went to dads and did a little cleaning. 2 loads washed and on creel or put away.
P.S Love the stars but at Christmas we get snowmen and Christmas trees as well
Hugs and spoons to all who need them.X Love to Toots family and friends.
Hope Poppy gets her op soon. XXX cross posted hope everything goes well with the op XXXLife is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. – Hilary Cooper

furball thank you for sharing the mould removal tip you'd found, will pass that on to DD whos moving out of a mouldy rental soon but want to get it as spick as she can before moving. she had a constant battle with moths and mould all the time she was there.
moths to the degree shell be needing to replace a carpet they ate will she was there.
paid stuff done, and picked up some bargains, they are having a charity fruit sale after scool but said we could buy some after our shifts so wont need to get much at the weekend.
Bossy make sure you get a copy of your little mans school news letter, schools often have book/cake/various stalls and sales after school as a way of fundraising/getting the parents and teachers to know each other.
really glad hes settling now and hope today is a good one for him and you.
Pigpen little poppy is in my thoughts and i hope whoever is looking over her takes the greatest of care and everything goes successfully.SPC~12 ot 124

;)
Have a good weekend all and "see" you on Sunday xx0 -
I managed to strip DS1 and DS2s beds (bunks, hate them ) and jam them in the WM, prep another load which will include uniform when the boys get home, S&S the loo and basin and scrub the bath, fold the dry washing into the ironing basket, write a cheque for my credit card and dig out the account closure form for my ex to sign when I collect DD later. Not a bad haul for half an hour!
Since then I have sorted out my passport application and all the required supporting docs, will post it before I collect DS2.
Breaded Camembert, om nom indeed!
Everything crossed for Poppy xx0 -
Hi all,
Piggers - massive hugs and vibes for baby poppy xx
Deco - that's great, thank you. Am happy to share the link around too if you're ok with that?
Im Home from Uni, with a hormonal moody boy in tow (ive missed him really) who is just back from his P7 school holiday... The Suitcase of stinking clothes is now sitting in front of the washing machine, but I'm too scared to open it and see what's growing in there!! I'm also abit worried as he told me he didn't wear everything!
That means he had on some of the outfits more than once... Manky bandit (I do find it a tad amusing autocorrect keeps changing manky to manly! Manly and manky clearly equal one and the same in someone's book!)
So I'm off to
- fill wm
- marinade some ribs
- Hoover bedrooms
- do some more ironingmy least favourite job ever... I can Feel procrastination kicking in already
HHC anyone??

You can get sewing machine needles especially for denim, because it's so tough.
Thanks Valli for your thoughts on furniture washing. I'm going to follow your advice, although it was because I was using a m/f cloth that I realised how filthy it was - they're just so good. Once I've done that I can then ask the expert if I can wash it, if further washing is needed, at his workshop, under his expert eye. I think we get on well enough for him to allow me to do so. Hope so, anyway.
Hugs (((Decog))) for your DH's memory.
I didn't know Toots, but I'd be up for a virtual coffee morning for Macmillan.Better is good enough.0 -
Jo did my slightly longer than HHC, nipped in school and paid for the fruit i'd got at lunchtime, nipped round mils with some bits she wanted, installed new printer inks so have printed martial arts club register out, and our bed is changed.
how did you get on?SPC~12 ot 124
