Potato Wedges? - All you ever wanted to know about how make potato wedges

Hi all,
I have some potatoes left over and am cooking lasagne tonight. I wanted to know how to make tasty potato wedges. I am guessing I slice the potatoes and maybe add oil? I wanted to use them up so they don't get wasted and thought this could be a good plan.
Any suggestions on how I can make tasty potato wedges to match my lasagne would be great! I don't have many ingredients - just potatoes, oil, mixed herbs and pepper I think.
Thanks everyone!

Yes, cut them into wedges, or any shape you like. Toss them in a little olive oil, add herbs, garlic or spices if you want and bake on a baking tray for 30 mins at 200.
I make these a lot but not to eat with pasta. Seems strange to me to eat potatoes or bread with pasta. But I realise I'm in a minority on this.0 -

I just cut mine into wedges - including the skin then I parboil them for 5 mins, drain and sprinkle with garlic oil then bung them in the oven for 25 minsBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Brilliant - Thanks everyone - seems like it might be quite easy! I don't have garlic unfortunately, but I have salt, pepper and mixed herbs so that will be nice anyway.
Yeah... I don't think I would have like boiled potatoes with lasagne, but wedges are similar to chips and I quite often have lasagne and chips. Funny really, because they're both potatoes - but wedges will go much better than mash :-)
I sometimes have lasagne and garlic bread too.
Thanks everyone!

you don't really need garlic - just use what you have
I eat lasgane so rarely i would eat it with chips (im not making a lasagne for one! ) , but i wouldn't dream of eating pasta salad etc with wedges or chipsA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

i make mine in a similar way to roasties. Cut in half, then cut each half into half and in half again if they are large potatoes. Par boil for a few mins, drain and shake them up a little, sprinkle over some flour or pollenta, then the flavoured oil, and bake at a high temp till golden. This makes them a little more crunchy0

Sounds tasty - I will try this! I will definitely par boil them for a few minutes. I can't wait to eat them now :-)
I agree, I wouldn't eat chips or wedges with anything other than lasagne. I do love pasta - it's one of my favourite cheap meals. I love penne with a creamy tomato sauce, sliced Mattesons sausage, chopped mushrooms and onions, mixed herbs and cheese sprinkled on top - delicious! I like garlic bread with pasta - but definitely no chips.
All this talk about food is making me feel really hungry!
Thanks all x0 -
I've started par boiling my wedges as they cook quicker and are crunchier - plenty of salt and pepper and mixed herbs, olive oil they will be delish.
I don't do pasta and potatoes either ThriftladyPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Hi KJ1983
Hope you enjoyed your potato wedges. You will never buy shop bought again as they are to easy to make and versatile:j
There is another thread about potato wedges , so I have added your thread to that one to keep all the suggestions together.
Thanks
