HI
I just bought a Polaroid 32" FLU-3232 LCD TV (£449) from Currys on Sunday , got it home , set it up and thought "what the hell "when I heard (or not) the sound from this tv , my car stereo has better quality speakers !!!
Rang Currys and said wanted to return the Tv as I was not satisfied with the quality (as is my statutory rights) , the manager informed me that he would happily offer a refund BUUUUUT less 10% as I had already installed the TV!!!!!
I even rang their Tech Support lline to see if the knew of any problems/fixes for this model , he said that it was just a poorly designed TV ! So I've paid £449 for a poorly designed TVand I loose £45 quid because I have already installed and used the TV , explained to the manager that there is no way I could have known the speakers were crap without taking it out box , we couldn't test them in the shop before hand as it's pretty hard to check out speakers when the TV is in the same row as 10-15 other TVs !
really really want to take it back for full refund , am I entitled to one ?

Just Put It All Back In Box With Receipt Say You Want A Refund Dont Say You Installed It0
-
ye exactly.
just do that.0 -
I had already told him we had installed the tv and were extremely unhappy with the sound quality. The tv is less than 2 days old
found the following here http://www.advicenow.org.uk/go/feature/feature_378.html?pkgid=36
Statutory rights
As well as the terms and conditions that you agree, the law sometimes puts other terms and conditions into your contract to make it fairer. These are often referred to as "statutory rights". You can rely on these rights whether they have been agreed or not. Statutory rights usually come up when you are buying goods or when you pay someone for a service, like a holiday company or a builder.
Here are a few examples of when your statutory rights would apply:
You are buying a new TV - the law says it must be safe to use and of a 'satisfactory quality', satisfactory quality means that most people would be happy with it.0 -
pack it up and go in. if they recognise you and question you present them with statutory rights spiel and get your full refund.0

b**ger
just read this from the advice site
"But if there is no problem with the goods and you simply change your mind, the shop only has to follow its own refund policy. This is often set out in a notice next to the till and is one of the terms of your contract "
and here is the currys return policy from the site
Our returns policy
If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we’re happy to give you a full refund, including delivery charge, provided:
You cancel your order within 7 working days from the day after you receive your order
You return your item(s) to us in their original condition
If you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product or packaging
The product has not been used or installed
The product is returned with the original box and packaging, with seals and shrink wrap intact and along with any accessories received with it
Pre-recorded videotapes, DVDs, CDs, minidiscs, memory cards and software are sealed
Any free gifts received with the product must also be returned
the problem I have is that there is no way I could have known about the poor speaker quality without installing/using the TV so their returns policy kind of stinks0 -
but you haven't changed your mind. you're not satisfied by the quality of the speakers. you're not happy with it.'satisfactory quality', satisfactory quality means that most people would be happy with it.0

"The product has not been used or installed "
is what I get   about , their returns policy says I can get a full refund in I am not satisfied , but I could not know I was would dissatissifed unless I used/installed the product0 -
Proving its poor quality is going to be difficult.0
