OMG!!!!!!
Just got this email from paypal:
The tracking information provided by the buyer could not confirm that you
have received the item associated with this claim.
The case is now considered closed and no refund is due.
We encourage you to work directly with the buyer to find a resolution.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
PayPal0 -
Hahahaha brilliant - well done you.0

Well done you.:j"There is a light that never goes out"0

So they can't prove that you recieved the package back so you don't have to refund?
If so then Winner. Email back this nasty person and let them know that they won't be refunded after all. Then Neg them0 -
Been waiting for one of these to come along on here for an age.
Seems yep if your buyer sends you back an empty envelope you will loose a paypal dispute... your buyer doesn't even have to go to the bother of wrapping up a house brick.
This scam has been discussed on other forums and the general consensus
is that if you have been a long term paypal member with no issues and your buyer didn't fund payment with a CC paypal willl fight your corner but otherwise forget about it.
Which brings me back to why we should be told how every paypal payment we receive is funded (paritcularily for non UK ,hence non seller protection eligible transactions).
But Soo doesn't agree with me on that one
Edit - I made a cup of tea while writing this post - well done OP!! - although I'd say it was luck rather than foresight - and I guarantee that paypal payment wasn't funded by a credit card.0 -
Yes don`t refund them, call it payback for their spite and move on. remember to block them so they can not bid on any other items, and remember to leave neg feedback.
When you have done all the above, forget about it, relax and look forward to you new baby.
Good luck.0 -
I have to say I don't quite understand; the package WAS signed for and she did enter the correct tracking number into the paypal dispute, so why did they find in my favour? When I spoke to paypal on the phone they didn't say that they'd find in my favour, only that I'd have to go to the police.
Not that I'm complaining! God, my faith in paypal has nearly been restored! I'm not wasting my time speaking to the buyer again, hubby will have the pleasure of emailing her later on. Hubby can decide on the neg too. Thanks guys for your support! Saddest thing is, she could have just returned the blummin' shoes to me and got her refund! She didn't want them!0 -
Glad it worked out in your favour, best wishes for you and your baby.0

I agree with Greeneye I think you have escaped here by the skin of your teeth, lucky you.
I too have been waiting to see how one of these pans out and nust say the prospect of this scam becoming common dooes worry me.
Very well done OP.....0 -
OP, it is possible the the RM website has not been updated with the correct information and does not say delivered - have you got the tracking no to check?
I was keeping my nose out in case this ended badly, congratulations on winning (must've been hubbys jumping and down), but I must say your buyer made me laugh. Sounded like you were dealing with a child. The, erm spelling, and posting an envelope to 'the monster'!! :rotfl: I mean REALLY! I really can't believe it was a proper grown up adult human.:wall:0
