Do people really believe advertising slogans and the like anyway?

    The TSB name is back.

Branches that are local to people are the local branch for those people.

As the "new" TSB organisation will be operated independently within LBG and then floated on the stock market to become truly independent it will have an opportunity to evolve it's own niche in the market place.

It is inevitable that it will start off as a Lloyds clone. Equally, it is inevitable that it will, over time, become something that is a little bit different.

wow.. OP seems to be hugely over exagerating a pretty minute point.

its like starting world war 3 over whether the sky is blue or turquoise

it seems a very silly thing to get so over emotional about.

also, i am not an employee of any bank.. and have not been for 12 years. However reading your original posts i too would of mentioned the disciplinary points.

most of your points complain that people have been pedantic - yet your points have been pedantic in themself by missing out certain words.

i think you need to breath and move on since you seem to be the only person in the country that takes exception to the fact that a bank is coming back from the dead.

"in many ways nothing has changed" because the buildings and staff will be the same.

"In other ways everything has changed" because they now have a fresh start and can be less restricted take new direction and use more initiative to return banking to a people focussed experience.

So going off topic for a minute does anyone know when those of us who've requested to stay with Lloyds will be transferred? I was told I was 'in the system' and it would go through but I've now also had the letter from TSB! I was meant to be an 'easy case' as I'm split, I have a "staying with Lloyds" branch account and a "moving to TSB" branch account, but haven't heard anything official in writing since the request.

C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!

I think the OP is taking this way to personally; and attacking individuals on the forum is doing you no favours.

The reality: you can't do anything about it. It has happened and will continue to happen. If you're unhappy, get your mum to move banks.

    I'll be damned.
  • OK point taken I'm outnumbered here only one other person can reason with logic on here and if that insults anyone then good I'm out of here, I actually posted this not only from a personal viewpoint from from a collective viewpoint discussing this with friends & spouses of people who work with her in Lloyds. Maybe being close to the bank and hearing everyday of the crap they heap on their employees make things a little more emotive.

Why do people make ludicrous snidy brainless comments like the one by john 1993, I did say all of his posts posts seem toi be bank related but there are other sections here on this board that are not bank related you know . Didn't you know that ---well I never!

Listen you Lloyds senior people on here, you don't have to sit at home every night and listen to your wife crying about how they have been humiliated in fron t of colleagues, how they are pressured to sell things to customers , given a script to con customers to go and see sellers and managers so they can load other products onto them, get shouted at if they don't press customers then get shouted at by customers if they do. pressured if they refuse to sign a new contract etc etc. So yes maybe I do get over sensitive and maybe I too over react to certain things but it is a wearing down process caused by that organization, they are full of lies and deceit and know that staff just can't walk away as there are not very many jobs available to go to.

Hallelujah, at least somebody else can see the point that is as plain as the nose on your face.

@Dave179 I don't know where you are coming from either, I am not disputing the way the bank may operate in the future, it may become the best bank ever but nobody can say that at the moment because nothing has changed apart from the name.

You mention about "the reason people applied to move jobs was to get away from Lloyds" well it would be good as an insider if you could enlighten us on this process, because on the date that the Verde project was made public it was stated that all staff that were in a particular branch remained in that branch for the duration of the sale.

This meant if you were in a verde branch you remained in a verde branch and vice-versa , there were categorrically no opportunities given to apply to which one of the banks you wanted to work for, similarly the bank couldnt select workers to move to avoid cherry picking of the best staff. The only possibilities where this could happen was if a senior job like a managers position became available and was advertized meaning anyone could apply. Cashiers and the likes had zero choice .

Not branch - back office IT. They had a create all the back office - HR, IT, Risk, processing centres etc etc. People who wanted to be considered chose a few roles they were interested in and filled in an application.

It is in no way just running as if nothing has changed. It is not just a name change. It is being run from Monday as a separate business with different processes and products the same as it will be when it is sold off. The only thing the same is the IT systems.
  • Sorry, at branch level there will be zero difference (until at least flotation)

This is by far the most pointless argument I've ever seen on MoneySavingExpert.

And I've seen a LOT of pointless arguments. And joined in more. It's just that this one is so pointless it's just too boring to join in and equally as boring to read.

And that's not a shot at OP specifically, other than that this is an astonishingly pointless thing to have a pointless boring argument about.
