The EU is no more "guilty" than Lloyds are. The real culprits are the Executives that ran their bank into the ground (in this case HBOS) and who got away essentially scot free.

    .

Oh how I agree with you on that

    The statement could have said

"Do not worry about your account changing to TSB, everything will stay exactly the same with the same friendly faces at your local branch operating in exactly the same way they operated previously. The change will not affect you for now only the name"

What you've hit on isn't so much a banking problem, but companies constant desire to put a spin on things. It exists throughout the commercial world.

Our accounts are reistered a bank that will remain LLoyds but we often bank at a smaller branch nearby which will be a TSB.
Last time we went in we were asked what we wanted to do as we could choose to go with either bank.

Then staff at that bank are breaking protocol which could be disciplinary, the Dr might know as they have been instruceted that they cannot push that information onto the customer the customer needs to request it without being prompted

Yes but that is part of the problem with the banking industry, it is more of a marketing / sales orientated organization rather than a financial one, that is why the banking industry got into the mess that it was in.

Unfortunately the hard sell practices and pressure on staff to sell havent changed

Soon any Lloyds customer who goes into a TSB will be encouraged to switch.

And the new switching service arrives just in time.

It'll be interesting to see just how encouraging TSB will be allowed to be while it's still owned by LBG.

4% on Vantage ends October 31st.
"It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis

Lloyds have to sell off a number of branches to comply with competition regulations following the acquisition of Halifax. If they sold off the branches but kept all the accounts/customers it wouldn't be doing much for competition, which is why they can't make it too easy to switch to Lloyds if your branch is one of the ones becoming a TSB.

Shouting is most unlikely to convince people of your opinion, milovisk. May be you can find a more receptive audience elsewhere - things don't look very promising on here for your line of argument.
