Sorry to hear you were ill - hope you are feeling better now.
I like the idea of the annual figures - not sure if I am brave enough to try mine lol. Hope you manage to sell soon x
Ah thank you LAMonly a sore throat left now which isn't budging!
I don't need to sell the house i'm in as it's army accommodation. I just need to somehow get a mortgage with bad creditand save the deposit :rotfl:. If worst comes to worst though we will move to rented accommodation and continue saving until our credit gets better. Nothing is going to deter me from my goal though
.
I think you should try the annual figure it's quite helpful I think and shows where the money is going to leak from :rotfl: (kids in my case!!)Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Thank you Abba I hope 2014 is a good one for you too
Well today was not a nsd. Mil wanted to go sales shopping. I bought myself a new bra for £5 :j (considering I can never find any under £25 thought I can't leave it!) And then mil suggested we go eat  £40+ later from my account which is not budgeted for and I'm not too happy!!! Whilst I was out I was searching for a new bedspread as I've been after one for ages. Couldn't find any in the size we needed for less than £100 . Came home and found a lovely one on amazon for £60 added it to my basket and then somehow found my way to the cushions :wall::wall: old habits die hard huh. Talked myself into 4 for £20 and then some knobs for my antique cupboard which I want to brighten up :rotfl: total cost for everything is £100 which is great but do I need it all and can I afford it considering what I've bought already this monththink I had better revisit my spreadsheet before committing :rotfl:.
I have spent 55 online in the sales for siblings and nephews/nieces xmas presents for next year :T all half price or better and I had a budget for this so am happy with that

I have to now find a solicitors to sign the forms for me, it says on the dps site that it should cost £5 or thereabouts so we'll see what i'm quoted. So annoyed, but not surprised at (ex)tenant. She's ignored all communications so far.
It will only be £5 - I did it for a client that I helped.
I just rung a local one and asked if they could witness a statutory declaration and they said yes.
You have to take ID and your declaration with you.
£5 is easy money for them when it only takes seconds to do!!0 -

Wow DFw - you must be feeling better - getting all the spends in on one day, eh? (I can't imagine paying £60 for a bedspread).

Morning!
I didn't buy the bedspread (yet)
I sensibly have started a spend diary on my spreadsheet and have noted down every spend over the last few days. I just hope I continue with it as i've been here a hundred times before and not carried on. I've worked out spends and I still have budgets for food, petrol & kids after re-jigging to account for the spends on eating out that I hadn't budgeted for. I need to go and get £105 out of the bank to put into my envelope system which is working well. The envelopes hold the money for car tax, kids clubs & suchlike. Things I like to pay for in cold hard cash.
Yesterday I also went to my bank and put DH on the account so it is now a joint account. Stupid move? We'll see...but as around 80% of his wages come to me rather than to his bank I thought it was a good move to get his credit up and running again. I will still have main control over it as I deal with all the bills, budgets etc but just in case he ever needs to do it instead of me he now can. We also applied for a credit card even though I knew I was going to get turned down:rotfl: I just wanted to see what the 'rejection' said. Said as I thought so we asked the nice bank lady what we can do to help it and she told us to perhaps apply for one of the ones who charge extortionate amounts of interest in 6 months or so. Then I can use it to pay for petrol or something each month and pay it immediately back. We're hoping this will help our credit rating go up. I think it's absolutely stupid that you have to get credit cards etc to make your credit rating go up but she said this would be one of the fastest ways of increasing it by properly managing a CC. Even though I swore I'd never have another one:(. Anyone know of any better ways without getting a credit card to help raise lines of credit to you? We'd love to get a mortgage before we get too old but it's seemingly impossible right now.
Weather keeps changing from torrential rain and hurricane like winds to calm and sunny. It's very strange . MIL won't drive home until it's a clear, calm sunny day ALL DAY :eek:.
Jobs this weekend:
Ironing uniforms
Meal plan for next week
Getting the cash out of the bank that I will need for envelopes.
Tidying garden before childminded kids get here on Monday. I'm hoping it won't rain all day so i can put them out there on the trampoline for a few hours as otherwise I will go mad as will they being stuck in from 8-6 .
NSD on at least one of the days! may need to go food shopping for week ahead too although I might leave it until Tuesday  although I don't want to miss delivery of my hoover which is due then:rotfl:decisions, decisions!Mortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Thank you Granny I had a look at that and they recommend the same as the lady in the bank. Using a CC in a controlled way. Hmm. Also me and dh signed up to noddle (again) and checked our scores. Mine is 2/5, his is 1/5  we also noticed all debts are marked settled or satisfied (not sure what difference is?) Aside from.....can you guess???? Vanquis!!! Grr. On both mine and dh its marked as cc still open and money owing on both with tonnes of late payments!!!! Will need to get a letter sent off to them I think! Aside from them I think its as good as it will get for now. DH is not on electoral roll so he needs to do that perhaps then he will get 2/5
I'll now wait 6 months and test the water with a CC company I think and go from there.
£50 moved to emergency funds and a nsd.will update signature when I'm on the laptop as its not working from my tablet.
Did I tell you ds1 broke his kindle? 2 weeks out of warrantythey have given us a discount on the refurbed ones so that was £73 but he paid from his x mas money so no expense to me but still annoying! Leapfrog were much nicer and more efficient when ds2 broke his leappad
. Oh well !
