  • I've posted the letter off. It was more expensive to post it off than it was to see the solicitor  I had a right old moan at the post office to anyone who would listen :o:rotfl:.

Ended up having a slight meltdown after school. Endometriosis is playing me up and causing a lot of pain and hormones doing their usual trick of making all my teensy issues seem insurmountable :o dh put me right (eventually after I wailed for a bit). Also chatted with my friend this evening for a bit before she took kids home and she's convinced i can get a mortgage within 2 years and not 6. I don't want to get my hopes up but if we could it would honestly mean the world to us right now, and mean a way of getting out of here. For now we'll carry on saving and being frugal. She also mentioned a new interest free loan that the army are doing for first time buyers, and as DH is not on my mortgage on the rental house we reckon he may get it. I'm sending him in to find out info on it :T.

  • Morning all,

I'm feeling a bit more full of life today (and energy!) I'm staying in today and it will be another NSD, I'm also waiting for a parcel which I think is due today. The letter I sent should be with the DPS by 1pm today and then I'll wait 15 days to check my online account with them to see what's going on. I think the tenant only has 14 days to reply so we'll see what she says, if anything at all. I received an email from the letting agents and the gas company has been in touch with them so I need to call them. Wonder if she's gone and left a huge bill there too?!

I've hoovered the whole house this morning :) it's so easy with the new, much lighter, hoover :j. Also steam cleaned the carpet by the front door in the porch and rearranged everything to accommodate the new tiny hoover & steam cleaner rather than the old, very cumbersome one! I can actually open the front door now without moving everything first :T. Would have been lovely if we had a utility or even just a cupboard to put all these things in eh . That will be high on my list for the next house! I never even knew i'd miss a cupboard like that, however 6 years of tripping over ironing boards, irons, shoes, wellies, hoovers & coats I can now see how useful a cupboard for these things actually is! :rotfl:What do they say " you never miss something until it's gone" or something to that effect :p

Dog keeps coming downstairs looking for a walk. What I didn't mention yesterday was that I'd taken the dog on a quick walk before school and he decided to roll around in fresh fox poo  it was absolutely disgusting and went all over him, his collar, his lead, my hands . I had to wash him 5 times and spray him before I felt he was clean enough :rotfl:. Now i'm too scared to take him out again in case he repeats it, we've had so many foxes around here lately I just know he will be off looking for it .

I've checked the banks nothing is pending and i've got enough money for food and petrol for the next 2 weeks. There is 3 weeks till pay day though so I will need to use the child benefit for the 3rd week. I'm hoping to use the tax credits for topping up the ISA, and if I get anything back from the dps that will be put into savings although i'm not sure if I will spread it across a few rather than just one, will see how successful I am first .

  • Morning :j

Thanks for popping in Shinner :D. My hoover has been dodgy for months before we got a new one. The hose was taped back together, the handle had snapped (also taped back together:rotfl:) it had stopped sucking up dirt properly even after being cleaned and filters changed and in the end I just gave up :rotfl:it was driving me mad so I held on to the Jan sales and got the one i'd been looking at for half price :T:j. I love my hoover now and have cleaned the floor religiously every day :D DH said if he'd have known I was going to be so keen to clean he'd have bought it 6 months ago for me

Well yesterday turned into a spend day as I went off to my meditation group and am so glad I did. One of the spiritual topics we were covering was how to show more gratitude to others and ourselves, how we can help ourselves as well as others. And my little scenario with the neighbour came up as this is my downfall at the moment for not living in the present, and feeling fearful and aggressive. Every time I see her I feel my blood boil, so I admitted this and expected to get shot down in flames for being un-spiritual :o but actually everyone at some point has felt like this I guess and they came up with some fab ideas of helping myself. They've suggested that I smile at her, even if she's not looking at me. 1- she will be thinking "WTH?":rotfl: 2- I think it will help me from ruining my whole day after scowling back at her as I usually do :o. At the time of doing it I feel good but actually afterwards I feel guilty & bad for doing this to someone, so I think I will try this when I see her next, maybe :o. I missed them this morning as I drove the kids to school as I took the dog for a walk straight after. She also brought up about finding happiness where ever we are, even if we are in circumstances that we find upsetting......I think she has been reading my FB updates :rotfl:the session seemed to speak to me so well :rotfl:. Obviously it was meant to be and I feel better for going :T. £8 is much cheaper than therapy ;)

I have to mention the doggy next door though as I want some advice from fellow dog owners. My friend (whom I childmind for) has been watching the dog next door, unbeknownst to me, for a while. She's reported the neighbours to the RSPCA and just told me about it. She didn't want to tell me beforehand in case they confronted me, but now she's thought she had best tell me in case they do, if this makes sense . The neighbours lock the dog in the garden in the cold, rain, frost, whatever, for hours at a time. This morning she was out there from 7am - 9am that I saw and I was dog walking from 9-10am. When I got home just after 10 she was (still??) in the garden. My friend thinks this is neglect. I'm inclined to agree after paying attention to what my friend has witnessed (ashamedly i've not been paying a lot of notice to this until she drew it to my attention) we have north facing gardens which are freezing cold and she's usually curled up in a ball either by the back door or in the smallest spot of sun if she can find some. I don't know if I want to complain (friend thinks more complaints will help) I'm unsure if there are guidelines for this, i.e is this neglect or do these sort of dogs like being outside for hours? My dog hates it and has a wee and is scratching to come back in seconds later.....I just don't want to cause more ructions than I already seem to have done unnecessarily. Anyone offer any advice?

  • No there's no shelter at all, all that is in our gardens (they're all the same) is a shed and the odd toy strewn across the grass. They're very cold gardens even in the heat of the summer as we don't get sun in them until around 11am and then it's gone by 1pm in the winter  it's blooming freezing! My dog hates it, but he's a big wimp too :p

I would say neglect then. They should have some sort of Kennel to allow for shelter be it freezing or even roasting. Does it have access to water / food?
Some people really dont deserve animals. I feel for my poor dog as when both me and OH at work she doesn't get to go out all day. She never has an accident but i still always feel guilty.

I've never noticed before whether she had food or water but after my friend telling me what she'd done I went and had a nosey out my window where I can see all her garden and there is nothing put out for her at all. :( I really feel sorry for her, she looks so miserable and she was taken by the rspca in the first place for neglect only seemingly to go to another home where she's not really wanted. My DH thinks it's probably because she's so bouncy, the neighbour has a baby who must be at the crawling stage now and a small 3 yr old boy, I wonder if she's knocking them down when she's jumping around the living room?

Then realistically she should ring and get re homed and get a smaller dog. I rescued 2 cats and when i fell pregnant with 2nd child re homed both again to stop them from being tortured by the children they were very timid. It killed me doing so but i knew was in there best interests. One went to a family in the countryside the other went to an old lady who had lost her husband. So both were and still are very happy. Some people are just selfish.

I've just double checked and no food/water/ shelter and she's still out there, nearly 5 hours already today. I've emailed them. She looks so sad :( really heartbreaking to think she came from a neglected background to go into another one.
