Dear DFw,
I bow humbly before your awesome productivity! :T
Have popped in a couple of times recently, but just reading about all your de-cluttering has been enough to make me reel, needing a lie-down, lol.
I'd keep the storage boxes. They'll come in very handy when you do eventually move, much better than cardboard.
If you've no-where to put the boxes now, as they're plastic you could always stack 'em neatly outside in a corner [covered with a tarp?], safe until you need them.
Thanks Robin, think I will keep most of them. They're not plastic (kids managed to break most of those and DS1 took the remaining last few for school stuff to be stored in instead of the floor) they're proper baskets made from ???? erm actually I can't actually think what they're made from. My brain has actually turned to mush todaybut they can't go outside i don't think so I will find somewhere for them to go in the house (maybe the wardrobe, the scarves/spare duvet can sit in the large one I think and it looks neat
)

I wish I could be the type who moves house frequently like you. We've been in our house 23 years. When I was a child my parents were always moving (my dad was in the navy) and I think this is why I hate moving - that and the fact I worked in estate agents for 10 years and know all the hassle involved. I don't want to even think about what's in our loft - things from the last people who lived here and my very extensive record collection from the 1980s.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Wicker?
Much better to use 'em to keep stuff tidy then, which of course you are.
DS3 lost my favourite "clean" camping box while he was away running a cafe. Am quite peeved because now all the stuff I usually store in it, is piled in a heap on top of the fridge.0 -

We moved a lot when i was younger, every two years. My dad wasn't in the army, navy or Raf but he just liked to move. My mother said it was the Irish blood in him :rotfl: (I wouldn't mind but she has more Irish blood in her as both her parent's are Irish :rotfl:). I went to a lot of schools too which was the downside to it all so I would like to move before the kids get to secondary or half way through their exams

I've relocated my large wicker basket to the wardrobe, top shelf where the christmas jumpers & scarves & hats were being stored in bags, it does look nicer now :T I have 3 more baskets that are empty & two plastic tubs which i've yet to find a home for. If no home is found by the end of the process I will sell on

I've yet to return the sp0rts direct stuff! I think I will pop into town either today or tomorrow. Put it this way i'll have a lot of cash coming back to me :T and I have lots of clothes that are nice and fit and didn't cost the earth so i'm happy! I love my new jacket tooand have had compliments on it too. That never happens as usually I am so out of touch with fashion that people just stare at what i'm wearing :rotfl: (not that i care if I like it and it's comfy it stays!)

Morning! I was super busy yesterday so didn't have a chance to log on here. I met a friend for a chat (after she caught me having a little outburst the evening before
) we took the kids to McDs so they could eat and I had a tea ( I absolutely hate supporting that company and their food is YUK but everywhere was busy so it did) and we had a lovely chat and she told me she was on SJW (St Johns Wort) so I asked her how much (dosage wise) and for how long and if she had noticed any difference and she said she had, so we walked over to B00ts afterwards and I got the same brand she had (thankfully a mid range one and not the super expensive ones!!) when I got home I did a few jobs and then decided to take the dog out, I called another friend as I just didn't want to be alone with my thoughts
and she was just about to take her dog out so we went together and the kids played on the park stuff, dogs ran wild and I had another good chat
it did me the world of good, and also helped when my friends told me of their woes, it puts things into perspective I think. I feel much better today!
Yesterday I sold a large laundry wicker hamper (can you tell i was slightly obsessed with WICKER!!) a hula hoop (adult one, what was I thinking?!) and a side table which I bought for £20 but only ever had junk on it and definitely did not spark joy. I sold the whole lot for £15. Not bad as I'd had my use out of all of it. The wicker hamper probably was £10 over 6-7 years ago and the hula hoop was around £5 (it was still new in pack :rotfl:) and the only thing i lost money on was the table but it really got on my nerves so I thanked it for once sparking joy and let it all go! The only thing I have left for sale at the moment is a hoover which people want to pay £5 for  I am thinking of taking it to my mums house as she said she needed one. So perhaps i'll arrange a Sunday to go over very soon and take it. I just want them to be used and go to good homes when i'm selling things but when people offer cheeky amounts of cash like a fiver when i'd listed it for 25 they can get lost
I have completed my paperwork category. It was never too bad anyway, i think I have the opposite problem to many, I throw too much away and then can't find it again. I want to move onto under my bed, the dresser in the front room & the cupboard under the stairs and the top of the kids' wardrobe. Once all those areas are done basically all that needs doing room wise is the kitchen (that will be a nightmare, cupboards are overflowing and things fall out all over the place
) after that it's just the loft & the garage. My shed was done last year and only houses bikes & a few car things & garden tools
no junk in there thankfully meaning one less job for me :rotfl:
Back to school tomorrow thankfully and my HS job. I've had my SJW yesterday and i'm off to have it again now, alongside 2 AC and all my other vitamins. I now take a vit B complex, magnesium, cod liver oil, evening primrose oil, SJW, AC, spatone (iron).........I must rattle. But on the other hand i'm convinced it's all helping with my energy levels and monthly cramps, they've eased hugely. I was diagnosed with Endo a few years back (mild case) the cramps and pains were horrendous but a good (ish...I slip every now and then) diet and supplements have helped so much :T.
Anyway i'm off to do the DW, put DH's paperwork in his file (i'm not sorting his stuff out I don't know what he needs to keep so he can do that if he wants to) and perhaps empty some junk drawers to start on the komono ... I counted "junk drawers" in the house and I have ..........8:o:o:o:o how embarrassing!!!!!!

Hah you know what I normally don't care what other people think either and go out looking like a bag lady, ubiquitous jeans and t-shirt from supermarket
but since I changed my wardrobe I've had a lot of compliments. It has been great but also a bit embarrassing.
I changed my work wardrobe from a couple of pairs of black trousers and the same worn tops and jumpers I wore at home, to shirts, 2 black pencil skirts, 2 pairs of decent black trousers, and a couple of nice cardigans. Way too many compliments. I obviously (I know I did) looked terrible.
I've got a cupboard to sort out today. Floor to (11 feet high) ceiling stuffed to the rafters. So Ia m going to have a proper declutter of that. Determined to be done before I go back to workxx

I hope you got your cupboard done lilt! I have done clothes, paperwork, books, toys & a few other areas (office supplies, candles, batteries, found all my inhalers :T and a few others which escape me!) I have been so busy over the last few days i'm looking forward to an early night. I have the MIL coming over tomorrow so I don't want to start any more areas to de-clutter whilst she's here (unless she goes off to do things on her own which i very much doubt
) ..I've also donated 3 more bags of "stuff"
:T
I went to the co-op yesterday instead of a1di as I was so pushed for time and literally had NO food for dinner in. I ended up spending £61 but I got enough food until Sunday and some extra bits that were on offer (YS) and have put those in the freezerso not too bad.
I made £15 on the hoover (a little bit  at that as so many people were cheeky and sent me PMs asking for it cheaper than £20 which I thought was already well price). DH is home in 11 days now so not much time left to finish the house so I kind of hope MIL goes home early so I can crack on with it all again! I'm going to find the big komono list knocking about on p1nterest in a mo to make a list of things to do :T
Kids have swimming tomorrow so I hope mil turns up before I need to go on the school run!MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06.
