Do you mind if people call you babe?

At work (Council office) and around friends (male or female) I am regularly called babe/darling/love/hon/sweetie etc. It really doesn't bother me. I think it's nice and affectionate - it makes me smile and want to hug people!!0

Lots of older people say Fannyann here. It just means 'girl' and the people who use it don't think it's any different to calling a boy 'spud'.
I think Fannyann sounds patronising though, and as if you don't care enough for the child to remember their own name. I always think it sounds as if you don't much like the girl, although I'm probably confusing that in my head with 'fancypants' which we used to call our posh auntie.
I suppose babe, etc. is just the same though.52% tight0
