Total Debt 10,700 today

Lurked on here for nearly 3 yrs, debt has gone and down, then up again more so like a tarts knickers.:rotfl:So here I am for the dullest diary ever but hopefully will motivate me to not spend on credit cards and increase my income.

I am single, not on great wages take home 14k approx. Home owner, small mortgage, could downsize and clear my debt but love my house, position it is in. Got a lodger for the next 6 mths so faster debt reduction.
Kids left home, 2 pets to support.

Determined and have to sort this debt out once and for all. Will run out of interest free offers soon. Luckily all my debt is interest free at moment, Worked out balance transfers and new payments for offer that ends end of this month. Still interest free but hate paying balance transfer fees.:(

Inspired by everyone on this site, joined a few challenges along the way.

Today need to sort out car insurance, have a nsd, no drinking and lots of exercise part of the September Step Up Challenge. Drinking bit I find hard on a nice sunny day nothing better than sitting in the garden with a cider. If I get car insurance cheaper than my budget of 155 pounds will maybe give in to the cider calling me:beer:

Overpaid my credit cards this month so its going to be a tough one, not a great deal of food in so diet may happen.. Blackberry crumbles again. Wey hey I love them and seen somewhere on facebook someone living near me got apples free for picking.

Ramble over. :T

Well sorted out my car insurance 165.00, did a monthly food shop tescos 17 pounds off first order.
Freezer full, 4 SFD so far this month and now nowhere to store my blackberries so picking on hold !

Been asked out on a date Sunday, not that keen and think it will just be a waste of petrol. Resisted buying Del Amitri gig ticket today at 50 each was a no brainer.

Annoyed by Talk Talk who bump up my monthly payment by 5 pounds this month. Negotiated a deal starting next month 16.9 a month.

Playing in my garden with top soil this weekend so hopefully a low spend one. Have a good weekend folks.

  • Hey,

Well done on starting a new diary and stopped lurking! :D

It's lucky that your smallest debt is on the highest APR. You managed to clear £328.51 per month (if your figures in your signature are still correct) so you should easily clear that within a few month. Cancel it once it's clear.

Del Amitiri? I loved them! The lead singer played near me a few months ago. I was gutted I missed it :(

    Good luck!

Thanks GreenSaints. Hopefully clear the one with interest next month.

Love Del Amitri as well, Seeing however Justin Currie(lead singer) next Sunday in Manchester so that be just as good. Already booked before the scrimping started:rotfl:Extra petrol needed this month to get there:eek:

  • After your nice comments on my diary I checked to see if you had one and low and behold I'm in at the beginning :j It's great news that you've started a diary to record your progress and give yourself a lift when you get a wobble. Mine has really helped me along the way. & well done on your progress so far, getting rid of that first CC debt will be a great moral boost :T Consider me subscribed.
  • Good Luck...

I quite often count days to debt free date against debt amount and work out a daily total, then when I see something I don't really need I put myself off it by thinking thats my daily savings amount to hit my debt free date! this might work for you too seen as you have the total debt and amount of days in your diary title :)

Aww Thank you didn't think anyone who subscribe to my waffle chuffed to bits. Impressed that you are over the halfway mark with your debt would imagine that is a huge incentive. Keep up with the running:rotfl:

Well quiet sort of weekend, 2 sfd, bit showery but got some gardening done, bit difficult with a wheelbarrow and a perished tyre moving top soil. Burn extra calories? Lots of dog walks getting fitter, well if daughter hadn't popped over with cakey might have lost weight. No scales at moment probably a blessing, muscle weighs heavier hehe

Today will try and sort energy bills as the fixed term with EDF ends this month. Can't see anything much cheaper but will look around. Thinking positive need to spend a bit today, petrol, paint and hay for bunny
