I don't suppose you're a member of Cost*o are you? I got a few Log*tech boxes from them when we moved a few months ago and they were really sturdy. They also have bubble wrap and brown tape cheaper than the other places.
Good to see the new diary and that (hopefully) things are really on the up for you.0 -
Evening one and all!
Now here's the problem with sourcing the boxes. I genuinely don't have time. I'm working on average about 60 hours doing three jobs a week and I'm trying to clear the house:shocked::shocked: I don't feel that I have the time to go around asking for boxes when I'm having palpitations about how to clear and pack a four bedroom house into a two bedroom place. Promise I'm not making excuses, but I am struggling a bit.
It took ages filling in three different forms for the solicitors, several of the questions I need to look up and find info before I can send it back. At least I managed to get it done at work
Tomorrow's tasks include:- Finding the missing info and documentation for the solicitor
- clearing the airing cupboard of old bedding and towels, just leaving the bare minimum
- Clearing out some more books and taking them to Oxfam on the way to meet Dad for breakfast
- Shredding more paperwork and filing away some/all of the filing basket/setting up moving file
- Clearing out the baking tins, need to get rid of the manky ones
- Sorting through more clothes and bagging them up for 'return to earn'
- Sort another batch of CDs for zapper
- Sort through all the stuff that has made its way into the utility room - bin as much as possible
- List on eb*ay the Captain's saddle, bridle, stirrups, bit and some rugs that don't fit him anymore - free listing weekend
- Clear down data on an old computer and put on eb*y
- Audit the freezer and start planning meals around what's in there
- Change the bedding
- Iron some clothes for the week
- Package up the eb*y items that have sold today - I sold five buttons for £10 :rotfl:how weird is that?:rotfl:

Apple boxes are sturdiest. Ask on Fr88gle too for packing cases and bubble wrap - always see people offering/requesting on my local Fr88gle.

Hi Piq
I am getting all excited for you now and love the fact that Colin has bent the sign - what I have trouble working out is how given his rotund shape he managed to perch up there for quite some hours, aren't the signs quite thin?
I have 3 cats - I won't tell you all their names in case I am recognised but we have a Maddie - the problem is my next door neighbour rescued 2 dogs and one is called Maddie as well so I can't call my cat without the dog starting so I now call her Madeleine. It's quite an elegant name I think especially as she is a rescue cat. She has some odd foibles and will not sleep in the outside cat run preferring to bed down under the hedge - I think she suffers from claustrophobia (sp?)
Anyway I have 13 normal size packing boxes here - I know you are in the next county to me but not sure exactly where (I take it your new abode is also in the same county?). If you are close enough I could drive them to you or if not use a courier. (These are very sturdy - I got them from a man on ebay who sells a removal set of different boxes, bubble wrap -ooh I have some of that as well, sellotape etc. I was the same as you Piq, I did not have the time to collect free boxes so just paid £50 as I reasoned that by the time I had driven to collect them all it would have cost me that in petrol as we live out in the country)
Let me know if you want them.0 -

What a kind offer :T, Am sure PIQ will accept. If you do need to use a courier find one here: http://www.interparcel.com/ - it compares them all and at least with Collect+ you can book it on the same site, dk about the others.

To save time and cut down on chasing your *rse you may want to consider the following: baking tins straight into metal recycle doorstep collection same with any old bedding etc that you are throwing out - well thats if they will take it - they do here
Dont bother with Eb*y for that old PC unless you think its going to make some serious money - put it on Fr**cycle .........actually same with bedding sometimes animal shelters/rescue centers are happy to take things like blankets duvets towels etc and of course any freeglers will collect from your home at your convenience
Finally, take up E-Es offer! They don't come better than that.

Seriously - you need to slow down a bit or you will be fit for nothing.

If you like I can source some and either drop to you or same as EE says courier to you (although never used a courier and not sure what to do there

That's exactly what I thought but didn't like to say out loud but I know Piq is an expert at all things courier related so hoping she would talk me through it :rotfl:
I think we need a local meet up - never mind bring a bottle, instead it's bring some boxes (not wine:cool:) :T0
