Just spent some time catching up with the multitude of things that have been happening to you recently. Whew! I hope the house sale goes ahead shortly so you can catch your breath!

I just managed to pick up an Aldi heated fleece. There's nothing like seeing new parts of London I hadn't planned on due to engineering work as there's no branch close to where I live. This jaunt included walking a significant portion of the Old Kent Road in the rain - wrapped up and with a brolly (yeah!), but my hiking boots are not as waterproof as I originally thought, so I've got wet tootsies (boo!). So, once I've rested my back and feet at John Lewis Oxford Street, I'm taking it home and trying it out ASAP.

Thanks very much for the heads-up. I had my heating on loads last year, but since my employment status has changed since then, it's not close to being an option this year.

You know somehing's not quite right when you're huddled on the sofa in PJ's, bed socks, fleece, (or two), coat, hat and covered in up to three blankets just to watch TV. And you're still cold. Yes, my front room faces North!

I'm hoping my ma has managed to pick me up a heated fleece.

The heated throw is on! I am currently snuggled up under it, well, my corner of it ;)

Cold and tired, believe it or not, I ended up working from 9:00am to 12:15am yesterday/today - no break! The overtime paid for the fuel I had to put in the car today, so I suppose that's something.

The buyers of the house have been round, luckily they still seem to like it and want to buy most the stuff left in it. All I need to do is come up with a price. I don't know what's a fair price for curtains and a washing machine etc. Bit too tired to research too. Also put a halt to any eb@ying I was going to do today as well.

However, I'm going to slob out under the throw in a guilt free manner, this is my day off! DS3 and girlfriend have been round and packed up the glassware and put witty descriptions on the boxes of stuff. God only knows what a heated kitchen light is :rotfl:Didn't know I had one!

Do need to pack up a few more eb@y parcels, might leave it until the morning before I do my shift at the coffee shop.

Wow - that is a long shift. I remember working double shifts from 6:00am - 9:00pm without breaks (a peculiarity of the printing trade).

Enjoy your day off - it's just the weather to snuggle up with the heated throw and Colin.

I've picked a heated throw up at my local A!di, there were around 15 left but I had to hunt for a brown and cream one, the other options being a vivid zebra print and purple and cream. I suspect these will sell out fairly quickly. I'm using it at the moment, it isn't that cold particularly to warrant its use, but gosh, it is blissful.

Re Talk Talk. Piq and advice given. My son works for a major European company - not Talk Talk! - and all the letters to the CEO, MD etc used to wind up in his department which dealt with all the problems that couldn't be resolved elsewhere. I believe this to be the usual practice across most major organisations.
Your complaint will be listened to, but it won't reach the ear of the CEO.

Long shift indeed! but as I said it did put fuel in the car, which didn't have to come out of the budget, so a win I guess.

The throws are bliss aren't they? It's gone on to the list of things that will be replaced immediately if necessary. Next time though I might buy the zebra printed one that you've seen mcculloch, in the hope that Colin thinks zebras eat cats and leaves me some throw :rotfl:

  • I think this is where I guiltily admit to buying two throws. After spending so long freezing last year, I thought just in case.

I'm not actually wrapped in it at the moment 'cos that would require complex contortions to access the power point at the back of the heavy sofa. So, unless I get too cold, it's staying in the box until the morning.

The funny thing was on the final walk from my home station to the house, a lady called out from a parked car to ask me about it - she'd obviously seen the box as I was walking towards her. So, I gave her the details but couldn't tell her if it would still be available after tonight.

Piquant - pity you're not getting a commission on all these purchases.

You will be warm with two beanie :rotfl: I'm guessing one is for your mum? I saved so much money not putting on the heating last winter, the throw was and is [last night] so lovely and warm, I didn't need the radiators on. Mind you the bathroom was a bit of a shock for any wee trips, but still.....

Not sitting on the flex is a skill you acquire over time. I have it sort of flung over the back, avoiding the cat and round to the socket.
