You are doing really well but I can see how it must seem like a long slog especially with those long shifts on top. Will be worth it in the end though :j. We used to live somewhere with REALLY tall windows and long curtains. Our cat at the time used to hare up to the top and swing there for a while before shinning down with claws fully extended :eek:Did the curtains no good so be careful what you wish for with Colin!:rotfl:

Could you maybe ask for a mortgage payment holiday?

Hopefully not long before you get a completion date. Is your solicitor a sole practitioner or don't they have holiday cover? Seems unusual for a conveyancing practice not to have cover :(

Glad to hear that everything is progressing. I'm sure it seems more progressive to us than it probably does to you.

I think that most sensible people would want to buy the curtains - it saves them the angst of having to sort something out for themselves and they can have a ready made homely feel - even if they choose to change them later. Maybe Colin will shin up them to show them off to their best advantage!!

Hope your cold / cough is subsiding.

The cold has gone leaving the irritating tickly cough behind, the one that likes to appear when you're sound asleep

I don't think there's any curtains substantial enough to take Colin's shinning up them. He's not light on his feet. Where other cats leap and spring, Colin clambers...
Piq would a Sunday evening slot at t'club earn you more than a Monday day slot with hellcow? Just a thought.............

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I've now got visions of a puddy tat swinging too and fro on a set of curtains with the theme they used to play on 'Sale of the Century' * when the 'glam girls' used to drape themselves across the speedboat or set of golfing clubs that were the 'star prize' :rotfl::rotfl:

    * y'all too young to remember Nicholas Parsons and 'Sale of the Century', and Anglia TV come to that.......................:(

I have already thought of swapping hellcow for an evening shift, but I don't like working evenings at all :( even if it is more money. However, if the move doesn't happen soon I may well have to take on the extra shift just to make ends meet.

It wasn't me that wanted him climbing the curtains :rotfl: He's more likely to show folks around his empty food bowl. He is already putting on fat for the winter. If one was to judge what sort of winter we are going to have by the speed Colin is putting on weight, I would say we were in trouble

No, I don't think so. I'll stick it out, hopefully, everything will be settled by the end of the year and I can start a normal life.

They're part of a practice, I find it difficult to find the time to chase them though. Work gets in the way! I'll chase on Monday after my stint at the coffee shop.

Yesterday I had a statement through from T@lkT@lk, the provider I left in July. The provider I went hoops through to actually cancel my contract and reclaim the money that they still insisted on taking from my account. The provider whose statement said that they still owe me £40  The provider whose statement said they could not release my money without me phoning their call centre in India

Cue one very annoyed Piq phoning no less that six times, going through no less that eight options to get through to someone I barely understood to be told I could have my money back in 28 days time :mad::eek::mad:

I written to the ombudsman, very annoyed indeed. Rubbish company.

I think that has taken up most my day, in-between working that is! One more day at work until my day off, although I will be working a few extra hours tomorrow evening which means a few extra pounds.

Eb@ying has slowed down, due to being quite tired, I must get back on it, but it's unlikely to happen until Sunday or Monday. The courier didn't turn up to pick up today's parcel and the site has no option that I can find to let them know. All a pain in the proverbial....

  • Hi Piq,

Sorry I haven't posted for a while I have been really busy with work and have been too tired to do much posting. Now I feel really pathetic typing that as you are so very busy Piq..I honestly don't know how you do it.

Things that occur to me as I have been reading are; copy watchdog into correspondence about talk talk it does add some wellie. Years ago they rang my parents offering a broadband and telephone deal. Dad asked them to send some information out. Next thing they had a"sorry you are leaving" letter from their provider as they had just gone ahead regardless:eek::eek: needless to say they didn't get any business. Also look for MDs, CEO's etc on linkedin if you write to them directly things get done quicker.

The second thing is the number of shifts you are doing. Moving is very stressful (add you know) and you need to make sure you have some down time so as you don't make yourself ill.

Lastly have you made an allowance in your budget for the extra haulage costs do it a heavier Colin?!:rotfl::rotfl:

Loving all of the great stories on here!

    Xx
