Hello everyone and a belated Happy New Year to you all.

Yet again I've been absent without permission and for that I'm sorry.

I'm closing this diary down and will start a new one, the title breaks my heart. The Captain has gone to Rainbow Bridge. He died quietly one night in early December. He just went to sleep and didn't wake up again. He was old and had a wonderful happy life but I am bereft without him, thirty years we spent together.

Noah has gone back to my friend's yard as he was loaned to me to keep the Captain company. Noah is as lost as I am, he knows his best friend has gone, I let him say goodbye to the Captain. Noah just stood with his nose on the Captain's head for ages.

I couldn't write this before now, but knowing you are wondering where I am it is right that I come back into the fold.

All I need to do is think of a title for a new diary that doesn't sound as miserable as I feel.

    Piq xx

I am so sorry about the dear Captain, it is heartbreaking to loose them, but at the same time I am thankful that the dear one was able to leave this world on his own terms, the alternative would have been even more unbearable.

Take good care of yourself, so many of us would be pleased to see you with a new diary, if you find it is the right thing for you.
