Waves and good morning wishes to Piq and colin:D
Waving back
I haven't been on the 'no toiletries' board for ages. Obviously I am still washingI'm naturally running everything down at the moment, less to pack and all that!
Did you read the report that Nivea is better than the creme de la mer cream, £1 as opposed to £100? Interesting. I might be trying it when it's time to buy some more moisturizer.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Two huge bags of books down to oxfam and two arms that feel substantially longer than they did yesterday :rotfl:
Two cheques to pay in tomorrow. One from Zapper for £25 and one from TalkTalk who insisted on carrying on taking out a direct debit despite me having changed internet supplier  Monies now refunded.
Change of subject.....wow, it's raining heavily at the moment!
Another spendy day, I'm afraid. I bought another lidded plastic box for all the Christmas paraphernalia, many years overdue if I'm honest. At least it's all in one place and easy to transport. Some of the decorations are pre-kids, family heirlooms in a manner of speaking. I'd hate to lose some of them. Also bought some of the vacuum bags and have bagged up a complete visitors set of bedding, spare pillows, throws and cushions as well as extra spare bedding. I've only left one spare set of duvet cover, sheet and pillowcases. Let's hope Colin doesn't wet the bed!
Looks like I'm going with the other buyer [B2] now despite me giving my word to the original buyers [B1] that I'd stay with them. It turns out their buyer hasn't got their mortgage and have pulled out. B1 has asked me to wait until they get another buyer, but I honestly can't afford to, the reason for selling up was to be able to afford to live. B2 is honoring their offer of the full price and are eager to get things moving. The estate agent has contacted the solicitors to let them know about the change of buyer.
I feel bad for B1, they had paid for the survey, which the house passed. I can't afford to wait for them, my finances can't wait and I'm not sure how long I can work the ridiculous hours to make ends meet. I do feel that I've gone back on my word, but circumstances have changed.
The colleague who offered to cover my shift is the one that the others say is miserable. Funny how she was the only one who said she understood how I'd feel if I couldn't go to the dinner. Just shows you shouldn't make snap judgements on people....
Tomorrow is coffee shop day and as always I will be working with the hellcow, deep joy..... I must also put fuel in the car and post quite a few parcels, eb@y stuff that has sold over the weekend. I've found plenty more to list over the next week, it seems never-ending.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Actually to be fair to you it is not you that has broken your word.
B1 have moved goalpost & not you.
Very unfair of them to expect you to wait I think.

Really pleased you were able to make the family celebration - am sure you would have been much missed if you couldn't go. Hope you were able to relax and take a breath .
Funny how things work out re house selling - you have been honourable throughout and stuck by your principles so dinna fash yerself doll.
Glad to hear DD might be sticking around too - very good news.
How soon are you moving, it seems all steam ahead? Take care0 -
You did the right thing Piq, what happened to them was unfortunate, but at the end of the day it might have taken them weeks to find another buyer and you might have lost buyer two in the meantime.
Fate .. It happens for a reason .Its just a bad day, Not a bad life .. :cool:0 -
So pleased your colleague stepped up to the mark so that you could go to the celebrations. May good luck befall her.
Agree with what others have said re sale, you have nothing to reproach yourself for. You have behaved honourably and its just their misfortune that they can't honour their side of the deal. It is however a business transaction at the end of the day and emotions have no place. You are doing this because you have to, not because you want to.
Hope hellcow behaves tomorrow

I'm sooooo pleased that your lovely colleague stepped into the breach. I had a word with the universe on Friday lunchtime and hoped that it would work out! Glad you had such a lovely time with so many special events to celebrate.
Don't feel bad about pulling out of the first sale. You behaved very honourably with buyer No.1 but they can't expect you to wait if it puts you in a financial tight spot to do so. Here's hoping it's smooth sailing (or should that be selling?) with buyer No.2.
Hope all ok tomorrow at the coffeeshop and hellcow behaves herself. Must go to bed before I fall asleep on the keyboard as I've got an early start. Have taken on a colleague's job for 5 months whilst they focus on a high priority project and it's busy. At least I get a payrise for the 5 months (the difference is all going towards the debts, so I don't get used to the extra cash in my bank account).

Nivea is fabulous - I've been using it daily since we moved here, my skin gets exposed to some really harsh weather most of the year and when we do have sun, the lack of pollution means it's strong. I'm 38 and so far (touch wood) wrinkle-free. The only make-up I'm wearing here is lipstick and eye stuff, nothing on my skin:0
